How long are your CS/'s scar, was it classical section or a Lower uterine segment section and I guess was it assisted with either forceps, ventouse etc?
35+5 weeks gestation
13cm long (just over 5 inches)

Breech Baby, no additional assitance just hands, as DD2 literally was pushing her way out

Emergency c/s: Pre Eclampsia and blood pressure that wouldn't behave during induction.
Don't think forceps were used, but will ask at my next appointment after just reading another thread.

Growth restriction, placental insuffiency, Gastroschisis (bowels on the outside)
Non assisted.
All 3 are between 12 and 14cm long
first was classed as emergency but it wasn't. baby was big but only required hands to lift baby out (37w 9lb15oz)
second was a breech baby who they used forceps on to lift his bottom out. (38w 8lb 9oz)
third was a tiny baby (for me) and hands only were used (36w 6lb12oz) Reason for early delivery was: Signs on placenta not functioning
the last 2 c/s were elective.. all lower uterine segment

I don't know! It's just below the start of my pubic hair :)
DD was breech for about 4 mths and refused to turn despite all my efforts (acupuncture, moxabustion, hanging upside down!).
Don't think it was assisted.

LUCSC wrigleys forceps as he was so far down in the pelvis they had to pull him back up!
technically emergency C-section one week prior to planned c-section as his CTGs started going pear shaped.
First:
Emergency classical c-section
Footling breech (foot out cervix) at 28 weeks gestation (2lb5oz)
Non-assisted
Second:
Scar - 16.5cm
Emergency c-section LUSC
Fetal distess at 25 weeks gestation (2lb)

The one on me or the one on DS2's bottom?
Mine was 13cm and 13 little staples.
His is about 6cms.
39+2, Breech, No assistance, and I signed the paperwork, so it was classed as Elective CS.
Mine seems to be about 13cm. It's a bit hard to tell cause the ends have faded quite well.

I thought they went along the old scar! So if you have more that one you have some train tracks down there?.Is it common for them to get the bubs too? poor little man!

Apparently it's common to cut the baby when you have no amniotic fluid. It was not nice with meconium and bf poos. He's less emotionally scarred than me!!
Looks like 13cms might be the magic number Beema.
DD2 must have been really lucky as I have no AF left either, must have been a shock for you :hug:
13cm does seem like a magic number
14cm perfectly neat penline scar although it was done above the pubic hair line and right on my lower abdominal crease so when it fades it will hardly be noticeble it was done at 38w 2d because of placenta previa no help required she popped out by herself 6lb 7oz.

Do you think that would be because your uterus wasn't as high, or they wanted more room to be able to get their hands in? Or do you know if it was longer from DD08 or DS09?
I was picturing people getting out rulers at work trying to measure their bellies, at least those of us home would be able to do it easily :lol:

DD1 - 13cm, 37+6, lower uterine, emergency c/s due to foetal distress, no forceps
DD2 - extended the same line to 16cm, 39+4, same continuation of previous scar, emergency c/s due to uterine rupture, no forceps etc as she burst her own way out :lol:
They cut out the scar from DD08 as it had keloided so this is from DS...I think DD was a little shorter because they had done the vertical cut as well (internal cut no external scar):
I think it is longer because at that gestation your lower uterine segment is not fully developed and they have to get there hands right in there to be gentle to the baby as they are a little more delicate.
The scar is also quite lopsided so it kind of sits funny.
