My big bub is 15 months old, is it still to early for him to have a doona?
My other two didnt have one as we were in the uk and had central heating so they just had a blanket.
Thanks

both my girls started using a doona when they went into a bed just before 2, before that they wore a sleepersuit
We used sheets and blankets until MJ was 3, this was mainly because she was on a toddler bed and then moved to a big bed just before 3...
But I also found it easier to adjust the layering to temperature better...

DS1 got a doona at 25 months when he moved to a bed. He is not good at staying covered so he is wearing all in 1 fleece suit as we were finding he was wakeing over night cold.
Before doona was grobag or all in 1 fleece suit.
DS2 in all in 1 fleece suit as he co sleeps but hates being covered kicks everything off.
Two years here when they moved into big beds. They are both pretty good at staying under the covers but have warm winter pj's too and if really cold then all-in-one fleece suits.
Great thanks ladies. Seems like when they move to a bed is a good guideline.
He is in his clothing and in a sleeping bag but likes a blanket so I was just wondering
what age was safe to do a doona.
yeah- same here, when DS1 moved into a big bed, he was 18months old then he got a doona. But DS2 who is almost 16months is still in grobags and will likely be through winter and probably won't go into a big bed til his 2nd birthday- so he probably won't get a doona until 2 or just after (he'll go into a bed in summer so won't really need to doona til it gets cooler).
The doona we got DS1 said its a kids one...its a Tontine brand.
