DD2 is obviously still in the cot but DD1 is continuously climbing in there when they go to bed at night. i'm not sure what else i can do to step her. I know she loves her sister and wants to play - do i just let her snuggle and go to sleep and move her or continue to try keep her out?
I'm at my wits end with her at the moment.
I haven't been in this situation, but if it wasn't waking DD2 up then I wouldn't stress about trying to keep DD1 out. Stuff like that can do your head in though!!!
can you put them into the same bed?? maybe try a mattress on the floor

How is she climbing in? DD was using the change table as a ladder so I've moved it. Seems to have stopped her for now.
Otherwise - do you want to try being stricter with keeping her in bed? Does she go to sleep ok at other times, when DD2 isn't there? Is it an issue, does it keep DD2 awake? Do you want her to stay in her own bed?
She scales the side of the cot and gets in - i stood at the door one night to see how she was doing it. Short of smacking her (which i don't do anyway for any other reasons) i am at a loss. Usually they both are in their own beds and talk and laugh then go to sleep. Yes - i would like her to stay in her bed.:
My two are in the same room together. DS1 is 4 & DS2 is 2, 1 in a bed and one in a cot. A few months back it became a bit of a novelty to have DS2 in DS1's bed and they'd fall alseep together. DS1 would fall asleep almost imeadiately, DS2 would get borded and we'd go in a short time later and DS2 would be happy to hop into his. It never caused any issues so we were happy to do this. Everyone stayed where they were supposed to :)
There was a time when DS1 was waking before DS2 and hopping in his cot and waking him up. At first i didn't realise he was probably waking him up but eventually i did and i asked DS1 not to hop in DS2's cot and maybe just come into our bed, he did this and all was good.
Could what she's doing be a bit of attention seeking and prolonging bed time? Maybe within reason allow some kind of special night time routine where they can share their beds for a short time?? We read stories on DS1's bed and then we tuck in and i walk out. It works well for us. I think you've got to be able to give a little, make them feel like they are making some decisions for themselves and then they don't try and push the boundries so much.... Sometimes that works..... :lol:
DS is 1 and DD 3.5. I'm surprised she doesn't try to get in his cot, I'm hoping she doesn't figure it out because it's something I imagine shed love to do! DD is a climber but I can't imagine how she could get into either of our cots if it wasn't next to the bed. Were using an arms reach bassinet/cot now but used a Boori.:
Is there any way you could put a bumper or even attach some wood to the outside of the cot to prevent the climbing?
