DS constantly wetting through...

Now that he is starting to sleep longer periods over night he keeps wetting through. Even on some nights when he doesn't, he is such a wriggler that I can never get his nappy back on properly :wall:...but that's another story.

But what can I do to help him sleep longer and stay dry? I have thought that putting 2 nappies on over night (next size up on top) but not too sure if that would be too bulky for him.

With DD we always just put the next size up on her overnight and it would do the trick but DS has only just gone up a nappy size and the one above would be WAY too big for him (he is 7kgs and next size up starts at 11kgs I think).

Has anyone else done the double nappy thing and it worked?

I had the same issue when my DS1 was a bub. I ended up buying those plastic pilchers and putting them over the top of his disposable nappy. It worked for us :)

LL - googled nappy mates but can't seem to find anyone that sells them anymore (that is sells them in smaller packets than 10x20. Any ideas where I can get them?

Have you tried changing brands? Snugglers didn't work for us at all with DS. Haven't used sposies for a long time though.

Clover- We are already using huggies. Never had a problem with them with before with DD.

the only nappy i found that DD didnt leak through are the aldi ones!

Im having the same issue with dd3.... I have tried aldi, baby love, snugglers and huggies.... maybe some other brands too! Shes 7 months old and 8kgs. Her nappies leak up the back and some nightsh she is wet up to the under arm and through to her sheets.... however the nappy is not full. Every night I go through the same process, checking and double checking that the nappy is on properly. She continues to leak through the huggies at night on most nights. I put a wollen pilcher that I got from Big W for about $5 or so and that works most of the time, although she has wet through it a few times. I did put a larger nappy over the smaller one and that worked.... I really should try that again. I too wonder if she would sleep longer if she wasnt wet through. I hope you find some help. I know exactly how you feel. This morning I had to strip her as she was soaking and it just wakes her right up and to be honest.... I dont want her wide awake at 3am!

overnight, we use a pocket nappy with a heavy duty bamboo insert, PLUS a terry square folded in half and then in thirds (ie: effectively a 3-4 absorbency) and that does the trick. Anything less doesn't!

I'd still be inclined to try the next size up in Huggies. DD has only wet through when she needs the next size up and like you, I've often thought they'd be far too big on her but it's always worked. We've often had the next size up for nights only and the smaller, more accurate size, for day time.

DD is 20 months and 11.5kg and has just moved into Huggies Walkers which are the 13-18kg size. It's worked a treat again, no more wetting through.

Give it a go, hopefully it'll work.

Exactly the same issue here!! sick of changing everything in the middle of the night! Have even tried the next size! Got a wriggly baby here too. Difficult to put the nappy on and then when he's in his cot he rolls onto his side to sleep. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this annoying issue! Hope you work out a solution soon!

Well Ladies we ended up trying the next size up and for last 2 nights hasn't wet through :dance:.

DS used to wet through on the side (as he slept on his side). I would put a Baby Beehinds cover over the top of his sposie, and a cut up terry coth nappy shoved in at the offending spot for extra protection. That worked for us.
