Septate uterus and Hysteroscopic resection
Hi Ladies. I'd like to start a discussion about septate uterus. It seems there's a lot of textbook info online, but very little written about personal experience. I was diagnosed last year, 7 years after my only pregnancy which I miraculously carried to full term.
My first ultrasoun at 19 weeks failed to reveal a septum. At 28 weeks, they discovered she was breech. They attempted an ECV to turn her at 37 weeks, which was unsucessful. The doctor then forced me into a scheduled c-section for 39 weeks. However I went into labour naturally only a few short hours before the c-section and gave birth vaginal footling breech (feet first). She is a healthy almost 8 year old now.
In 2004 we ttc again for 2 years with no success. The relationship broke down and my current partner and I have been ttc for 4 1/2 years. He has male factor issues, and I have had a lot of cervical pain for years. An ultrasound in 2010 diagnosed a septate uterus. I will start seeing a gyno next week to find out the next step, and see if they recommend a hysteroscopic resection to remove the septum. Undoubtedly lots of tests first.
So I'd like to hear from other ladies who have a septate uterus (or bicornate, unicornate, etc). Did you have the surgery, and if so what was it like? Were you able to conceive afterwards?
Thanks :)
