Am I the only one stuck in 'time' ?????

Hi all,

My DS is almost 15 months. He is still in his baby bath (it is a fair size though). He loves to kick his little legs and hates sitting up (I sit him up to wash his back but then he proceeds to lie down again). Also, I still use his baby monitor.......:redface:
Should I be 'moving' on from these things? I feel like I've been doing them forever, but he's not a baby anymore!! lol

Also, he is still flapping his arms/hands so much, it's like he is going to fly off :o He flaps them when he is really excited or is grumpy and wants to be picked up (except with a different facial expression of course). Is it normal for a toddler to be flapping his arms/hands so much????

I still use a baby monitor :D and DD2 still tries to fly quiet regularly ;) so no your not the only one :D

they grow so fast there is no need to rush things

I have another wanna-be-a-bird so I think thats okay :)

Im stuck in time on checking DD every 10 mins while shes asleep...shes 17months. I cant stop doing it! Ovi shes fine but I still freak out!

I still use the baby monitor! I think she will have to ask me to remove it when she is a teenager! :)

I still use our monitor and DD is 21 months! I'll be getting a new one for her when the next baby comes along too. I'd prefer to hear her stirring through our monitor than screaming blue murder cause we can't hear her through the walls or over the TV! :lol: I don't think there is anything wrong with still using a monitor :)

Friends of ours still bath their DS aged 2 in their baby bath. He loves it and he's well behaved in it so why not. Heaps easier than leaning into the big bath (their baby bath is on a stand). DD kept trying to climb out of ours so we moved her to our shower/mini bath several months ago now.

I still use a baby monitor for DD1 and she's 27 months, lol. But I always think I won't hear her otherwise.

We still use a baby monitor for DD1 at night because were upstairs but when her cousin stayed we sat listening to them in the kitchen giggling at 2yr old chatter at bed time :p

Your not stuck in time, i had to take my girls out of the baby bath because they were climbers but otherwise would have used it as long as possible.

I only recently stopped using our baby monitor when DD was about 3yo, so don't worry about that! As for the bath - DD was a little fish kicking her legs everywhere, making it almost impossible to keep the water in the baby bath, so she went in the big bath from an early age.

I had DD1 in her baby bath until she was over 2 - but that's just because it was easy and she was small enough to fit. I use the moniter still as we close off the hallway and need it to hear the kids over the tv if they wake up :D I wouldn't worry - just do what works best for you.

DD used to be a "trying to fly" type of kid. She grew out of it eventually.

I just stopped using the baby moniter and DD is 2yrs 8months and her room has always been opposite ours.

Wow thanks lovelies! I really thought I should be moving on! lol. DS's bedroom is at the back of the unit and we're at the front, and although it is a small unit sometimes i don't hear him w/o the monitor until he's in full flight of tears! As for the bath he still fits in it, it's one of those that has like this bump between the legs so that keeps him from slipping under the water when he's lying down so he can kick his wee legs :p. I swear, there is more water coming out of that bath than there is in the bath!

There are no "shoulds".
Ds I'd 3.5 and is still in a cot in a sleeping bag.
I figure as long as he's still napping during the day I'm not messing with what works.
