ok girls my washing machine is a pretty cheap top loader about 6yrs old and i think on its last legs. for the last 4 years it freezes once it fills up for the rinse cycle, and now its started making some horrible whining noise when it spins...
SO tell me about not too expensive washing machines and where to get them?
im not fussed if its a top loader or front loader.
Ours was the same - 10 years old, a freebie we got from a friend lol. I was so reluctant to give it up cos it was free! But it was a top loader, and then we had a 14 year old dryer for rainy days, and both of the buggers died at the same time :(
Anyway, I've always wanted a combo washer/dryer to save space, and we found a Samsung one at Radio Rentals on special for $999 (I think it was cheaper because it was floor stock, this was about two weeks ago and they may still have them).
It cleans the clothes better than I have ever seen!! Our old one must have been seriously lame - all of DH's work clothes now look as though he could go out in them, the stains are all gone! There are things that I've just assumed always look like that, or are too dirty to wash out, and it gets it all looking good as new! And the smell is divine, everything smells so good when it's been washed in there. So yeah, I really recommend a front loader, our Samsung one rocks :)
