I don't know how much more pain I can handle...

Hi Ladies,

I'm just looking to see if anyone else has suffered similar symptoms?

For the last week, I've had really tight, sharp chest pains that radiate up into my jaw. It's not the first 'bout' of this illness I've had. I get temperatures and I simply get to the point where breathing is just painful.

I've had ecgs, lung x-rays, gallstone ultrasounds, and nothing comes up.

People around me are saying it is stress, but I cant see how something THIS painful and debilitating could just be stress.

I need to know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I can't walk without having to stop as the pain is too intense.

I need help but I have no idea what to do.

no idea, but it sounds serious ... stress can manifest in all sorts of ways physically, though, so I would not discount it.

I wish I could say something more constructive than "try another Doctor" or seek relaxation therapy or counselling ...

or maybe others can comment on alternative therapies?

I'm sorry I don't know much about this, but have you considered a type of panic attack? Have you tried any methods of physical or mental relaxation that alleviate it once it's started?

I see you're a naturopath, maybe it's worth looking into some alternative therapies like osteopathy to see if it's a mechanical issue?

Hope you feel better soon! I'm just wildly guessing here, btw.

I don't want to self diagnose as I'm concerned my thinking isn't right. I'm heading in a few days to see a very qualified Naturopath (unlike myself who is still very much learning) and hope he can help me..

I guess I just needed to blurt it all out!

Hi Kimmi, how scary for you. I hope the naturopath you're seeing can help.

Two years ago I had very bad chest pain that radiated down my left arm and made it difficult to breathe. It had all the hallmarks of an impending heart attack. Like you I had those tests and nothing was found. My doc diagnosed it as anxiety attacks, and looking back now at the other symptoms/timing I guess he was right. I was flabbergasted that such physical pain could be caused by anxiety but it's amazing what the body does to protect itself or "shout" at you when something isn't right.

It may be completely different for you but just want to let you know I'm thinking of you, and keeping my fingers crossed you get some answers soon. Take care xxx

Are you still seeing a doctor for this pain? Sounds like angina which doesn't show up on ECG's etc unless your having an episode at that time or have suffered prolonged damage.

That's the thing, I don't feel stressed or apprehensive about the day at all.... I don't want to send DP the wrong message that I don't want this because I really do.
