Present ideas for midwife?

I absolutely adore my midwife I had with DD and really want to get her a gift of some kind - but I am absolutely stumped for ideas.

Anyone have some good gift ideas for me?

We gave our midwife a bottle of wine but she was a wine fiend!

I didn’t want to give my midwife alcohol because I know he is on a diet and doesn’t want to be tempted. So, I have ordered two t-shirts and a mug for him from cafe press (Google it and search in careers and professions – midwife). One t-shirt has a scroll design with “midwife” on it and the other has a stalk delivering a baby and says “if only it were that easy”. The mug has a man on it with a speech balloon saying “don’t make me use my midwife voice”. There were so many to choose from, I wanted to buy about 6 of them. :lol: They haven’t arrived yet, I’m busting, hopefully they’ll come tomorrow. :lol:

How about a fob watch? I have a friend who's a midwife and she can't live without hers.

I bought my student midi one of those carved wooden angels, I think it was the angel of giving - but there are heaps to choose from.

Coz she was like an angel thru out my entire pg ;)

I was thinking something sculpture-ish too. You can can get lovely stone sculptures of pregnant figures or women with babies.

i got my doula a nurses watch!! also a book called birth that was filled with awesome quotes and pics!!!
othwise what about a cool pen?
a statue- you know the ones of mother and child type?
hmm will think of some more

I bought my midwives a scrap booking/photo album and covered it in some special material. It was the kind of album you can pull apart and add more pages if you need to and I also gave them a set of extra pages to get them going.

Inside I wrote a special note and gave it to them as a keepsake to store all the photos of the babies they had delivered. I started them off with pics of our baby and a few little words to say thanks. I suggested that if making a book of delivered babies was too big of an effort they could always use the album to store family photos but they were both thrilled to have a place to store all of the photos and stories of babies they had collected over the years.

My cafe press stuff arrived today. :dance: It’s all really good quality, better than I was expecting, and I am so happy (I got lots of stuff for birthdays and Christmas too, not just stuff for my MW). I chose the standard shipping option and it took the full 14 days to arrive. :D

I love the cafe press mugs, will be dropping some heavy hints for a new mug from the hubby for our anniversary. I have one of those carved angels and whilst I really love it, I wouldn't want heaps of them. I think things like statues are really personal, whereas a mug, t-shirt or chocolates will always be appreciated and used :)
