Calling -Home hair dyers
I dye my hair black, but can't prevent dying half of my face, and down my neck to my shoulders during the whole process
Now the whole world will know that i have just dyed my hair.
What do you to prevent face dye? Or how can i get this stuff off?
TIA

Conditioner or vasaline around your face/neck before you dye. Hair dye cant stick to it.
To get it off, try bicarb paste, nail polish remover or ciggarette ash mixed in a little shampoo or condtioner (this works wonderfully!!).
Also, buy yourself a hairdressers cape. It will save abit of your neck and your shoulders.

Cigarette ash works a treat! I thought it was weird but it works very well. My hairdresser actually passed on that tip. Cleanser or makeup remover is also good.

I've heard baby wipes work

We've got heaps of ash, thanks to DH. I need to get this stuff off. I will try the ash thingy now. And remember the conditioner for next time.
Thanks!

I used to use barrier cream around my hairline (ok over half my face because I'm seriously bad with hair dye) - eucalyptus or tea-tree oil will get it off but make sure you don't have a reaction to it first.

Yes to the cigarette ash thing, it does work (although it is a bit icky lol). Next time you dye, keep a pack of baby wipes at the ready so that you can wipe up any smears before it stains your skin, that's what I do with mine and DH's hair :)

My hair dresser goes back over it with the die and wipes it off again straight away. That works too.

Yep same as Helle. I dye my own hair but my hairdresser gave me that tip - ie. just wet your hands a little bit and get some of the dye of your hair and rub that on your skin and it comes off really well. I used to do the ash thing too but it felt too dirty! lol
-
ahh yep forgot about that one.... rubbing the dye from your head onto your stained skin gets it off but Im guessing you had already washed it off by this stage?
PS. Bellybelly needs a "like" button, really bad lol

I tried the ash thingy and tadaaaaaaa all gone. It was quite yucky as i am a non-smoker and refuse to empty DHs ashtrays. He was gobsmacked when i asked for some ash!
BB definitely needs a like button.

I use these wipes you get from coles purposely for removing hair dye. I'll show you next time.

You've gotta have a neighbour with a wood heater to avoid using ciggie ash! I'll save you girls some when we get our wood stove installed in the shed...no, really!!
