We're in the middle of moving houses and our new place only has a shower. I have 2 toddlers that mostly shower anyway, so it's not like we'll miss it a great deal.
Do people find it alright? Or is life heaps easier with a bath?
I spose there's no real point to 'bath toys' if we don't have a bath is there?
us. It's a nuisance, as to shower bilby, i get totally wet, and if we are in the shower together, there are grab rails in the way, which i bump my head on (plus only one person is under the water), trying to wash/soap DD. I call the room a "shower room", there is no moulding around the shower, so the floor is all one level - the water covers the floor, and it's a tiny room. i think the room was modified for the last tenant, who was elderly with mobility problems (she wouldn't have been able to lift her leg, over a bath side, to get into the shower).
i really miss having a bath for bilby, but she has never liked showers. If your kids love showers, maybe it wouldn't be such an issue.
We don't have q bath. We've made do and DD has showered with us since she was born but I really wish we had one, I miss long soaks in the bath!
We lived without a bath when DD was born until she was about 9 months old. I just dealt with it but I hated how that after a long day I couldnt have a soak in a hot bath.
PS. No need to miss out on the cool toys if you dont have a bath ;) Ide just get a tub type thing to put them in so they can still play with them a little in the shower.
We went without a bath til DD was 18 months old. was fine - she showered with us. now she has a bath maybe once a fortnight at home - the rest of the time, she showers with us (or by herself with us supervising - we just lean in and wash her hair and make sure she washes the rest herself.
with regard to bath toys, they can still have water play either in a tub outside in summer, or in a small pool...
We don't have baths, we have spa bath's instead.... which although sound super nice, are a pain to fill up as it takes so long!! The only thing I don't like about this house! The previous owners built it and used spa baths as it was only adults and teenagers living in the house.
Saying that, our 2yr old DD mainly has showers with her Daddy and occasionally a bath and we just only fill it up a bit.....
Our newborn has a bath in the plastic bath tub or shower with Daddy.
Do you have a laundry tub? If it's big enough could they bath in there?
We have only showers. DS showers with us and we have bath toys on the floor. We put a toy or facewasher over the drain and just periodically let water out but let it get to about an inch and a half which is enough to splash in for him. We usually direct the spray away a little and then have a sit on the shower floor with him and have a play for a bit. Then the other parent sometimes comes to get him out so the showering parent can wash hair, shave, whatever, without worrying about shampoo in little eyes etc.
we've lived in one place which had shower only, and I've vowed never again. ever.
partly because I love love love baths, but also because it's such a fricken nuisance trying to dry bubs and me at the same time - particularly if it's AF time, or particularly cold, etc ... if there's two people available it's not too bad, but if you have to do it solo, that's a real pain in the patuty.
but we did survive without a bath for a couple of years, and I guess it would come down to what the options were, etc.

We didn't have one for 5 years and last year did a bathroom reno and put one in- bliss! DD often has a shower with one of us in the morning and then a bath by herself or with DH at night. When she was a bub (before we had the bath) i would sit on the floor of the shower and hold her, when she got bigger she would sit in the bumbo, and now she sits on the floor. we still have a few bath toys in our shower for her to play with.
We have a bath in the main bathroom. But it gets used mayb 1/2 a month. My kids loves showers and its so much easier.
I don't find this a nuisance and I have two girls to get dressed after our shower :D They just run around nude until I can get them dressed. And when they were little I would just put the towel around me and them dry them and dress them on the bed :D:
We only have a shower and have showered DS since he was 8 weeks old. He loves it. I love it, we just chuck him in with one of us so its easy as and I don't need to have to clean out a bath As well XD
And we still have "bath toys" no getting outta that one.
We do have a bath and there is no way i could live without one. Especially at the moment- my 3year old and 16month old only really have baths- as i'm usually home alone at bathtime- i couldn't imagine how i'd go showering them both (shower ain't that big). Plus my 16month old son is not a fan yet of the shower. I also love and sometimes just need to soak in a nice hot bath after a stressful day at work.
But when it was just DS1 and I we used to have mainly showers- we could've done it all without a bath- and we still used bath toys- the squirty ones make less mess in the shower. We also use to place something over the drain and let the base fill up- like a bath- then i would get out get dried and dressed while DS1 was still in the nice warm water. I've tried this with DS2 and he's just not into it- so thankgoodness for our bath or every bathtime would be a struggle.
we dont have a bath! there are times i dream of having a bath....for me that is :rofl: the girls love the shower (i pop Marta on the floor of the shower while i am in there). and on the occasions that we need to expedite cleaning i use an Ikea baby bath. both girls fit in there and they still get to have bubble bath action!
bath toys...we use plastic stacking cups in the shower (good for filling up with water from the shower head) and have rubber duckies. kids will find a million ways to play with bath toys. also we really got into bath crayons and DD1 loves to draw in the shower :)
A house without a bath is like chocolate pudding without cream...something's just not quite right.
I don't, but I hate it. For my sake though, not for the baby. She showers or we wash her in the laundry trough. She has one rubber duck and a teacup she plays with in there, but that's it. DH's cousin gave us bath toys as a gift, which we thought was pretty funny, and we passed them on.
Cave mummas got along just fine without bathtubs. There's always a bucket, if you really need it!
