Evening Primrose Oil

I know this has been discussed before but I couldn't find the thread so sorry to ask again but what week is it OK to start taking the capsules?

Also do you have to 'insert' them? or will taking them orally work as well? Also how many?

You can start taking them now.
It is suposed to be more effected if you take them orally and insert them.
take 1-2 twice a day and insert up to 3 high into the vagina at bedtime. Put a pad on because things can get a little messy when you stand up.

What exactly does EPO do? Will it bring on labour as such??

Praying for a VBAC with my next pregnancy and know that I can't be induced.

They help 'ripen' the cervix, contain natural prostaglandins (as does semen)

I did it all orally and inserted for less than a week and I had my dd in that timeframe!!

Thanks so much Alan! I will start these now too and no worries at all Taryn :D we'll all have to come back on after the births and see if it worked for us. Here's hoping!!

I got my EPO from the chemist. Each capsule has 1000mg and the jar says to take 2-3 capsules orally but nothing about internally.
I started using them last night and inserted 2 then and another 2 tonight. Should I be inserting more because I'm not taking them orally too or leave it as is?

I spoke to a lady at a health food shop about taking EPO yesterday and she said that you need to take fish oil or flaxseed oil with it - cant remember the reason.
