definately go the scanpan. they might set you back a few hundred dollars, but try and get them in the sales, shop around. they will last you forever. we have them and they are terrific. easy to clean as well. i wouldn't bother with a whole set because you dont need heaps of pots, just go for a few saucepans and maybe 2 different size frypans. hope that helps !!

My favourite pot (and we use it most days) is from a company called Chef's Toolbox. They do home party things, like tupperware parties. It's a pot, it goes in the oven, it does everything and cooks everything beautifully and cleans with just a wipe. Love it. Cost us a lot, but it's been worth it.
circulon definitely! we were given some as a present & they are awesome! i think they also have a lifetime guarantee or something similar. i have never had anything stick EVER to them! not eggs, pancakes, meat, anything! :)
DH just bought me a new Kitchenaid Set and they are just lovely to use.

we have analon, wasnt a huge fan of scanpan tbh
we decided to go with Raco - not that well known i suspect, but i got sick of the non stick surface pots loosing their non-stick! so we went with the stainless pans. have only been using them for six months since we moved, but must admit, i am really impressed. we got them when Harris Scarf opened locally - for about a quarter of RRP so that helped!
Scanpan, for excellent high end quality. (literally will last you a lifetime). Would love to replace all my items with this brand. Have a look during the sales you can get 30% or even up to 50% off.
For quality cheap end, Arcosteel is actually pretty decent - but it definitely won't last you as long (although 1/4 the price).
There are plenty of decent inbetween brands too.
I have Scanpan and can't wait to replace it with Esteele. All my Scanpan pots have already been replaced once under warranty due to a manufacturing fault - the replacement batch ain't much chop either! If you Google "Scanpan" and "faulty" you will see a litany of posts on cooking forums where people complain about them.
Why Esteele? They are the only 18/10 stainless steel pans with a full bonded copper base (not just a thin covering of copper, like the Baccarat and Raco).
Scanpan may be everywhere you look, but ask around. Most (honest) salespeople will tell you about how many returns they get.

WOW. Learn something new everyday. We have a couple of scanpan, and my parents have some too, and never had a problem. Checking out the cooking forums is a good idea.:
Another Scanpan loather here! All ours have failed us dismally :shakehead: I'm so disappointed especially given the $$ we spent on them even if they were on sale. All three expensive pans have been binned. We have vowed never to buy Scanpan again.
Our Raco roaster on the other hand is amazing and has had SO much use over the years (we've had it 5.5 yrs) and its non-stick coating is still going strong. I'd highly recommend Raco.
Our pots and pans are Bacarrat and they too are amazing. We will be getting a new set this year but we don't really need too, I just want to update them to glass lids and better technology. We've had them for 8 or so years and they've had one hell of a workout :)
I have some anlon pots and frypans. They arecreally good. Have had them a couple of years and they still look like new and completely non stick. I also have a tefal non stick frying pan for the same amount of time and never had a problem.
My scanpan griddle lasted 6 months before the surface was damaged.
Le chasseur cast iron is good.
Bessemer are good too.
