Please tell me im just too ahead of her...

When i look at my little princess, i feel like im trying to push her, but im not itms?
I will her to do things that she isnt, but im not physically pushing her to do so, more explaining and showing her..
DD is now 7 months, and she doesnt hold her own bottle, can not sit up though she is very head strong and has been very strong since birth as all my ds's.
she wiggles around and rolls aorund but once i try and sit her up (with me behind her) she just plumps to one side, even in her pram, she slumps to one side, the left or right side, no favourite..
she is a very healthy bubs, she eats up a storm literally, she chases food lol..
I just feel that compared to my ds's she is no way near them?
My ds's all were walking by 9 months, sitting up (with exception to ds3) by 6-7 months and crawling at this age.
Now ds3 had very horrible hearing problems, and his balance was horrid, but even though he was tumbling and falling everywhere he still was walking by 9 months..
Now i know its 2 months away and she is only 7 months and ive already heard the whole, boys and girls are different etc etc etc..
But i think i need an outsiders re-assurance that this Is the norm, as this isnt what ive had to deal with before...

All babies are different and will grow and learn at their own pace...

But if you think there is something that needs to be looked at - go and see your GP or MCHN xoxox

It's hard isn't it. :hug: my DS was always slow with his physical milestones. When all the other babies were lying on their tummies looking around, DS has his face planted in the carpet. He was late (compared to most of my mothers group) to roll, sit, crawl and he walked just before he turned one. He runs and climbs as fast as the rest now though! She sounds perfectly normal to me, but definitely talk to your GP or mchn if you are worried.

They're all so different, like MN says. It would be weird if they all did stuff at exactly the same time.

Mummenurse- i know, kids are so different, i just wish it was all meant on a time slot lol, that way i knew when it was going to happen and i wouldnt worry so much..
Amunet- yes it is, I just feel useless, she gets so excited when she see's the other kids and gets visibly upset when she is the one left on the floor lol...
and that very much sounds like my dd, lol anyone talks to her, she is very shy mind you, she just plops her face into the carpet and peeps to see if there gone and then if not plops it back in there lol..
She is going to have her appt tomorrow anyway so i might just mention it to them and see wat they say...

My DD is 8.5 months and only just started sitting up by herself. She doesn't eat much (maybe 1 tablespoon of mush a day) and doesn't crawl. And she is the "advanced" one of my three babies! My DS1 didn't walk til 15 months, DS2 was 11 months, and they were both "late" crawlers. DS1 didn't make much sound at all as a baby (mum worried there was something wrong with him). DS2 "swam" on his tummy instead of crawling. DS1 didn't "wave".

Like others have said, all babies are different, but speak to your MCHN if you are worried.

Thanks rory, I think im so used to the way the others were that i worry myself silly that she isnt following them itms?
With them they were so on it, that i never got to take a breath they were all ready and willing and then off with it, that with her, im just sitting there waiting for her to not need me anymore...

Hun, babies are all so different! I was writing my own 'worried mum' post a few months ago about my DS.....my DS is 15 months and only started 'properly' crawling 5 weeks ago (he was commando crawling for aaaaaaages). He only sat up all by himself unassisted at 8 or 9 months, he isn't walking yet and only says mum, yum yum and makes a car noise. I used to be worried but now I'm chilled! I'm dreading when he starts walking as I know he'll be into EVERYTHING!! Don't worry hun, it's so hard not to compre especially when you have other children around to compare to!

Sparkles for me it is the opposite with my DD LOL! I keep remarking to mum that this time I have a "textbook" baby. She even does the "drop things off the highchair and want me to pick it up" thing IYKWIM? My boys never did that sort of thing :)

Sparklez, I know how you feel. Though My DS2 is only 5mths, he seems a bit behind my other two kids. By now, DS1 was sitting and almost crawling, and walked at 11mths. DD was up on hands and knees and almost sitting too, she walked at 10mths. DS2 is still a real baby. Which part of me loves, and part of me is wondering when it will all happen! I am really trying to just enjoy him learning more slowly than they are, and being a little baby for longer. The other two did seem to grow so quickly. With DS2 being our last bub, I need time to slow dawn and for me to just sit back and relax! At least I don't have to worry about him getting into stuff for a while :)

she is my baby baby and a huge mummy's girl, a thing everyone and i mean EVERYONE isnt used to, my ds's were always about my brother or mum etc, but she is mummy's :D
i think im worried but also scared iywkim?
like i want her to reach these milestones, cause i know thats when i can chase her around and watch her walk and enjoy the things she has to watch her ds's and cousins do, but then i dont want her to yet? Do i sound normal lol?
i like that i am having the time to enjoy her, but at the same time, im worried that me enjoying it could be prolonging it if there is something that maybe wrong??
like my ds, he had severe hearing problems by the time i had realised that something wasnt right, he would fall all day long and not just bumps but thumps and it was horrible he can now smash his head on cement and get up and walk away.. weird i know..
he was putting his head and hands on floors and tables and chairs anything to feel for vibration, cause he just couldnt hear crap all...
i just dont want my dd to have to go through what the issues i stupidly missed with ds... ya know?
anywhooo on a lighter note, its very re assuring to know that im not the only one getting to keep the baby stage longer... :) :grouphug:

Like already said, yes, all babies will develop differently. I don't think there's anything wrong with what you're doing though, helping her get strength with sitting her up, etc.
If you are still concerned and she's not sitting unaided by 10mths, I'd seek further advice.

Yeah I do regular exercises to help build up her strength, hopefully she will learn to do it on her own soon :)
