Fussy 3 monther

Any one else have a very fussy 3 month old to feed. He sucks for a few mins (anywhere from 3-10) then just screams all me until I sit him up and give him his dummy (yes a dummy!). Then he smiles at me!

I'm hoping its normal. The health nurse said they have a fussy period at this time as they realise there is a whole world around them.

He feeds best in the middle of the night when he is mostly asleep but knows he is hungry.
I could try to re create this during the day but he would be wide awake so prob wouldnt work.

I hope it's normal cos Sahti is exactly the same!!! Right down to the dummy ;)

Same here, except the dummy bit... she pulls on and off the breast, whinges looks around smiles and then feeds more, this happens several times.
I'm continually squirting her in the face and the couch etc!

Yep. I think she's got a sore tummy lately too, so that doesn't help! I actually had her facing outwards in the hug a bub the other day because she kept twisting her neck to look around. Once I did that, not a peep out of her :o

I'd just check if your baby is growing normally (weightgain does slow down at around 3 mnths) and how many feeds they are having. when they fuss many mothers feel a bit rejected, and feel like feeding less, but offering it more seems to a better idea. sometimes when they are tired they don't really want more food, but sucking the dummy is soothing

DS seems to do this when he has gone past the tired point so I try and get him to have a big feed before he gets to that tired stage iykwim. But yes, 3 months and they are so much more alert and want to see what is going on in the world especially if they have a big brother and sister who are having lots of fun :)!
