High-Risk Pregnancies
Anyone else out there got a high-risk pregnancy currently going on? I have a very very bicornuate uterus and it puts me at serious risk for:
IUGR
Incompetant Cervix
PreTerm Labour
I would love to start speaking with some other preggy mamma's out there who are currently high-risk and going through some things like myself :)
thanks

I had my DD in December and I was very high risk.
I had....
Oligohydramnios (low amniotic fluid)
Severe IUGR (4 weeks behind before delivery)
Placental Insuffiency (my left side had given up completely)
Preterm labour at 28 and 31 weeks.
On a high dose of nifedapine for 5 weeks.
Plus, DD had Gastroschisis which is a birth defect in the abdominal wall which causes the fetal bowel to come out and float freely in the amniotic fluid.
They were also monitoring me for pre eclampsia (sp?), but my blood pressure was OK.
I'd be happy to chat with you and other girls about being high risk. It sucks. :-)

Nice to meet you charlotte :)
I have almost 2 complete uterus! With DD I was watched constantly. She also had an amniotic band and they were scared it would wrap around her neck, limbs, or umbillical cord and kill her. My cervix was always very close to getting too short but would always grow back I had her at 37 weeks and she weighed almost 4 lbs but was still 5 lbs...I am PG again and Im already starting it out with a horrid UTI....I hope this PG goes a bit better and doesnt get potentially scary like they tell me all the time

Hi,
We have a whole separate chat thread for women who have Medically Managed preganancies, where you will find other's who may be going through some of the things you are. Please find the thread here.
All the best xx

There did used to be a high risk preg discussion and support I think. Schmikkers made it a sticky called Medically Managed pregnancies. It hasn't been chatted in for a bit, but I'll be joining you in there shortly.
ETA, should have refreshed before I posted.
