Just wondering if anyone has one? Was bubs okay after wards..

Hi, I didnt have an amnio but I had cvs testing which is similar at 11.5 weeks. My bub was fine thank goodness, and all her results came back clear too!

I also had a CVS which is the earlier riskier version...bubs was fine and is asleep (I hope by now!) in the bedroom next door!

yep i had an amnio at 15 weeks. i was so scared of the results, the chance it would effect bub all of it, but in the end the procedure went well and the results were good. no bad effects on bub and a lot of peace of mind for us for the rest of the pregnancy.

I just wanted to know the procedure and how they go about and if bubs will be okay while it's happening and if they be okay..

Bubs father has genetic issues so need to get it checked.. Thanks..

bubs will be fine, they use us to guide the needle in the right place and make sure bubs doesnt get touched. dd tried to grab the needle and they had to take it out and start again. there are 2 people in there, one doing the procedure and one holding the us thingy in place for them. its quick. pain varies from person to person, i found it painful but know many who didn't. take time off work if you work and get as much rest as possible, if you can get some help with your older child that might be a good thing to keep you off your feet and running around, they recommend a day or 2 where you take it very easy afterward. They can have results for 4 things within 48 hours, but it sounds like these may not be the ones you are looking for, the wait for all other results is 2-3 weeks. i would personally recommend getting someone experienced to do it, just for your own peace of mind. the lady who did mine does 5-10 a week and has done for a long time, so i felt comfortable that she would do it with minimal complications.
