Miss DD's birthday party is a fairy theme, she is dressing up as a fairy (or so im making her :p) and i want to dress up too! I'm having trouble finding one that would fit me..
Does anyone have one i can borrow?? (i can pay postage here and back) Or suggest what i could do instead? I have a white top i could wear but i dont have a skirt... i was thinking of wearing just jeans or leggings and putting on a tutu but again having trouble finding one to fit me... *sigh*
You could make a tutu - do a google search for 'no sew tutu' for instructions. It is really simple and will only take you an hour or two and won't cost you much at all :)
I have no idea how to sew.. :redface: i did home economics in highschool and got a D:

That's why it is 'no sew' ... you don't have to sew it :)
Basically it is taking strips of tule and tying it onto an elastic band.
I'll go find you instructions so you can look at it :)
Maybe while you are at it you can teach me how to read! :rofl::

Anyway, I found you a youtube video - YouTube - ‪How to make tutu no sew‬‏ :)
you can get some elastic for your waist and tie a knot in it.
cut strips of tulle double the length you want.
tie the strips of tulle on to the elastic with the knot (where you tie) in the middle of the tulle. each strip will be 2 layers of the skirt.
that's it, there are plenty of tutorials if you want pics to show you.
* softer tulle will be easier to work with
* use more than one colour tulle to make it pretty
* if you can get a roll of tulle (15cm wide), you won't have to cut the width of the strip, just the length.
