Outweeing Huggies - are there any better brands for big wetters?

We only use disposables at night, and Huggies always worked fine for both my daughter and my son up til now.
He must be doing super wees in the early hours and waking up soaked every morning.

Has anyone else used a brand they think are better than Huggies for nights? I used to like the Aldi ones with DD, but I tried those again recently, and they work worse than the Huggies. :rolleyes:

I'm open to suggestions for cloth night nappies too, but honestly, I went through a few with DD and never had much luck. That was 3 yrs ago though, maybe there's something superduper now?

My son used to always wee out the sides of Huggies so we started using Baby Love at night. No problems since :D

I use Snugglers - and have very rarely had any troubles with them. Occasionally my daughter has weed out of them, but not very often at all. You might be able to go to the baby websites for each brand and request samples? (I've never looked in to this, just a thought) Good luck. :)

I just went and looked at the Snugglers and the Baby Love websites, and on both you can request a free sample of whatever size nappy you want (one per postal address). Maybe try a few different brands that way?

We use the homebrand ones for overnight now and they have contained the wee where the Huggies didnt. We havent looked back since the change.

We only use disposables at night too. Until a couple of weeks ago we swore by the Aldi Mamia, then they made "improvements" which made them leak and smell of chemical. DS was waking up soaked! So we bought a packet of the Coles Drifit and they have been really good. No funny smell no leaks and I haven't seen any gel leaking out and ending up on his skin. I think Aldi added gel as one of there "improvements"
I'm not sure how they compare to Huggies, but they are streaks ahead of Aldi!

My mum gave me this suggestion. Get a cheaper brand of nappy and put a slit down it in the 'wet' part (where the wee generally goes. Then place another nappy over the top. This keep baby bottom dry and helps soak up the wee with little or no leakage.

Also my DD wets most if its a cold night, try and make sure baby is extra warm also

A friend who had a really big weer used to put a teena incontinence pad inside the nappy and it helped to keep him dry....it may help you.

I found this was happening with huggies when it was time to move up to the next size. Maybe try the bigger size?

Do you have Aldi in Queenlsand? They are great. I also second the going the next size up with Huggies :)

We use Baby Beehinds cloth night nappies and find them great!! DD is still in them at 2.5 years and we very rarely have a leak. DS wets through disposables at night too, but he doesnt leak through the cloth. Maybe you could try and hunt down a second hand one to try?

We found aldi great until they changed the design. For night time we're now using the coles dryfit nappies (green pack, snugglepot and cuddlepie designs) and are finding them wonderful. Haven't used huggies in ages but always found them a bit small for the suggested sizes, but the coles ones are doing great and I think we can probably even go down a size for Sam.

We had problems with ALL designs and poor darling would wake up wet so he has a normal nappy on with a pull up over the top - sometimes it isn't wet so we reuse it and other times both are soaked. Stops him getting soaked to his clothes but isn't cheap. We use Aldi pull ups over the top of a Huggies nappy.

Baby love suggests poking holes with a fork through 1 nappy and putting another over the top.

I've been hearing excellent things about Pop In modern cloth nappies that have the most thirsty inserts. that would be much cheaper.

i use a cloth nappy cover over disposibles, i have a motherease one at it stops the leaking

Thank you for all the suggestions - that's given me heaps of ideas to work with! TBH, I didn't even think about maybe going up a size - DS has such a skinny tummy, I was probably overlooking the rise factor. I think I'll try that, then move on to something else if that's not the problem.

Kuraiza, I love my Pop Ins during the day, and you reminded me that I actually do have the night insert from when I tried it out on DD. Maybe I should give that another go with DS. Just have to find it...
