My heart aches for you....

A brave woman shared her LTTTC story with me recently...over 10 years of trying, one miscarriage very early in the piece, both naturally and then several assisted cycles and $40 000 later they have now chosen to take a break. Her fertility is unexplained, they've both had all the tests, everything is fine, doing what it should, being where it should be, etc.
How my heart broke for her, I could feel her pain, when all around her, sisters, sisters in law, friends were having babies, planned and unplanned...I wanted to cry for her, she was brave and shared her story with out any tears.
They've considered adoption, which in Australia is the biggest joke - how ridiculous is it that people can adopt from overseas far easier than in their own country? And had themselves on the OS adoption list - I had no idea that you can't be on the adoption list and do IVF at the same time. I find that hard to understand given the wait for adoption is quite lengthy - couldn't you remove yourself from the list if your IVF was successful?

So to all you LTTTC ladies (and gents) my heart goes out to you - I had a glimpse of your pain.

Your friend is an amazing woman - for any person to go through all of that or even just some sort of issue breaks my heart (obviously this is sensitive for me). I'm glad for the technology that we are able to access but it upsets me that sooooo many people have to resort to it. I wish your friend all the very best in her endeavours to become a parent, I am one of the lucky ones that has a child from natural conception and sometimes have to pinch myself to remind myself how lucky and blessed I truly am.

It really breaks my heart to hear of women who have been LTTTC and still be without a child they so desperately want. I really your friend gets to experience motherhood with an eartside baby one day soon. It's not even the money for some people, they would simply give anything if they could to have a baby to love and spoil. I was one of the lucky ones too, to have the access and success of IVF, I just wish other women who so desperately want a child of their own, get lucky one day too. GL to your frend hun.
