Some time in the near future I am going away sans kids & husband. I love roller coasters (he really doesn't!) so am going to take this opportunity to stay with a cousin for a night and go to a theme park.
It has been absolutely yonks since I went to any of them and was wondering which one is the best for crazy rides? I don't need kiddie stuff, just hard-core rollers. TIA!
Dreamworld or movieworld for rides, you can look them up online and they show what rides there are, might be able to compare them to see which ones look better.
I would do Dreamworld as it has the most rides. Movieworld has some pretty crazy rollercoasters though - but I remember the superman one almost gave me whiplash - not the kind of thrill I was after :)
I loooove Movie World. The rides have a much better theme, go for longer and don't feel as rickety as the ones at Dreamworld.
we did dreamworld, seaworld and movieworld all a day apart and definately dreamworld has the best weee factor rides!
make sure you go on the mick doohan motorbike ride, the big drop, the one with the rapids and there are a few more "OMG think i left something in my pants" rides that are awesome

Thanks all. I think I may end up going for dream world because we can get an unlimited pass for $69, whereas Movieworld will cost a bit more for one day. I might just take myself there 2 days in a row ;) . (Provided I haven't been given whiplash, LOL!)
I would go to Dreamworld, the giant drop and the claw are good fun.
Have looked at the websites BTW and can't WAIT to go on the ToT2. (I went on the original one a hundred years ago (well, ok, 10 at least!) and that was way cool but this one looks even better!
Did the Giant drop last time but haven't done the claw... Yippee! Am so excited!
definitely dreamworld! I'm a local and have been quite a few times. Beware though, the food is EXTREMELY expensive. Then again it seems to be that way at all the theme parks and zoos.
I'd say Dreamworld too (although Movieworld's superman ride was great!) I think Dreamworld has more variety. Don't go to Seaworld if you're after lots of good rides. Not that kind of attraction.
Mmmm, not Seaworld for rollercoasters. Though getting hold of a multi-park pass (I think they're about $120) gives Movieworld, Wet & Wild and Seaworld unlimited for a year.
We may have just gotten back from Gold Coast last week ;)

Seaworld is great for the animals etc but not for rides
Movieworld has some great rides but I found not a lot otherwise to do once you have done 4 d cinema and the street parade.
Dreamworld lots to see and do and cool rides!!
Dreamworld for rides. MOvieworld is ok for rides but not as good as Dreamworld. Seaworld is like Feeb said, more to look at than to do.
If you get a 2 park pass for Dreamworld / White water world, you can take an esky into WWW, chuck it in a locker...then move between the 2 parks. Saves buying food. But, there is nothing to do at WW but water stuff...awesome in summer, not so much in winter!
Dreamworld. Movie world really only has 4-5 rides and you pretty much run out of stuff to do after a couple of hours, and Seaworld is more like a zoo than a theme park. Wet and Wild is really good on a hot summer's day but nothing in the way of rollercoasters! Plus if you go to Dreamworld in the warmer months you can get a hopper pass and go to White Water World as well - keep an eye out for shopper dockets if you go to a Coles or Woolies in the area because they often have adults at kids prices and that kind of thing. White Water World also has a water slide roller coaster that operates using magnets which is pretty cool and they have some big thrill slides as well - one that DH and I call the Giant Dunny because its like dropping down into a giant loo and getting flushed! Its awesome!
Dreamworld is definitely the best of them all, even if it is a little more expensive - I would suggest bringing your own food if you want to save some money because like all theme parks the food is seriously overpriced. Tbh as someone who grew up with those theme parks, I wouldn't be miffed if I never went to Seaworld and Movieworld again.

We took the kids in november last year. Dreamworld, movieworld, seaworld, wet and wild. IMO movieworld was lame compared to the others. We stayed at seaworld resort, which was cool and super convienient. But yep, Dreamworld was AWESOME!
