I've been blessed with a beautiful newborn, who sounds like a dragon when she's sleeping.she screws up her pretty face and looks like she's very unhappy.
She seems to have an hour long wake up cycle, during which she makes the most incredibly unlady -like sounds and keeps me in a fitful sleep. She's 3 weeks old and dh is suggesting it's time she moved out, but I don't want to have to do that.
I know newborns make noises in their sleep, but this is too much.
Why does she do it and what can I do?
Lol, you have an Annabelle double! For us, not every sleep is like this - it was a lot more early on, and it seems as though it was related to wind pain - she had a lot of gas constantly, so was always scrunching up her body trying to get it out.
Now she only seems to do it for a little while until she gets into a proper sleep.

Babies are noisy. DD was especially noisy and she only slept for a week in our room. I slept that week with a pillow over my head.
My niece only lasted 2 HOURS in my sister room before being kicked out.

I have no idea as answers for your questions...
But when DD2 was born she was the loudest sleeper ever! And she still is..
At first we would laugh at the nosies she made, but then I used the noises to give me some peace of mind. I knew that whilst she was making those noises I knew she was ok. She snores, she mutters, makes the weirdest noises and generally has no idea what the term 'quiet' means when sleeping.
After 20mnths of getting used to this, I dont even need to walk into her room to check on her, mostly we head down the hallway til we can hear her snoring, turn around and go back to what we are doing.
Although I think snoring is contagious... DD1 now snores too!! And they share a room together, the noise that comes from that room every night is hilarious!
I desperately hope it's not long term, I could be getting so much more sleep if she'd just pipe down!
yep, its normal. you get used to it and they tend to get quieter as they get older... when asleep anyway
:lol: My second wasn't 24 hours old before a midwife commented 'he's quite chatty, isn't he?' :think: Hasn't shut up since really. If she's not uncomfy or unsettled, she could just be a noisy one...I tried to co-sleep with both ours, but I really have trouble getting to sleep; if I'm not properly asleep, any little noise brings me back, so both babies have been in the room next door. Do you think some white noise in your room, like a fan or gentle music would help bub's snuffling to blend in a bit?
my dd is silent when she sleeps, sometimes i have to poke her just to check she is all good. she makes up for it when she is awake!
I forgot to mention sometimes she dry heaves and looks like she's choking.
I do use some white noise, it helps but not completely.
I don't know when she's really awake.

Ds is a very noisy sleeper, he needs his adnoids sp? taken out. Dp had to aswell but not till he was 4. Were also going to wait until proboly just before preschool. The only way we found out it was the same thing because when we went to our gp ds was asleep in the pram and gp commented on it. Im not saying that what she has lol just that make sure she doesnt have any underlying problems :-) Good luck and buy some earplugs lol
