Tinned fish? =/
Hi everyone :) I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me. I'm looking for new things to give my little one (she's turning 1 in a few days) and I came across a fish pie (annabelkarmel.com) recipe but I was wondering if I could substitute the fish in it for tinned tuna or salmon? I'm just not sure about the mercury levels and google is useless :wall:
Anyway, if anyone could give me any info that would be awesome :D

Are you worried about the mercury levels in the fish or the tuna?
I believe they suggest to start introducing fish around this age anyway so i can't see any harm in her having a little bit of either (fresh or tinned tuna)

DD loved tin and fresh fish at 1!
As far as I was aware its fine.

if you want to avoid the mercury use salmon rather then tuna. they grow a lot quicker then the tuna and therefore have less time to hold the mercury.

DS is a tuna and salmon fan too... I didn't know you were meant to wait til 1 tho. He's been having it since he was maybe 8 months or so in tuna mornay. Oops.
