Weaning Mummy off the baby monitor
Hi all, we are in the process of setting up the baby room in preparation and are planning to move DD into her new bedroom, which is larger. When we move her over, the plan is to stop using the baby monitor. She's 13 months. She is a good sleeper so I don't really use the monitor to get up to her or anything. I mainly use it for 2 things:
1) checking the temperature and
2) checking she is breathing. We have the Angelcare one.
I know I can get a thermometer for her room but I really like being able to roll over during the night and know what the temp is in there and make a snap decision as to whether I need to get up and add layers/remove layers or put the heater on.
And the breathing thing..........I know at 13 months the SIDS risk is so low now but I've gotten used to it and once again like being able to roll over and see that everything is okay.
I'm a baby monitor addict, please tell me how you weaned yourself off the monitor.
