3yr old just wont try to do anything.. feed herself, get dressed etc...

My 3yr old DD is driving me mental of late.

She is just whinging and crying and sooking over EVERYTHING.

She wont even try to do anything, asking her to get dressed is a massive drama.. she says she cant do it when you place her clothes infront of her, even letting her chose her clothes she will stand infront of her draw and say "Cant do nothing"

This morning she managed to wet herself and she just stood there for ages in her pj's refusing to get undressed. She can do these things and used to be fine with it all but the last two weeks have been a joke with her.

Then after the bath this morning she wouldnt get dressed, stood there in nothing, threw her towel away and just carried on, throwing herself on the floor screaming. It was less then 5 degrees this morning!!!

She wont eat tea unless I feed her most nights, especially if its something she doesnt want. She would live on baked beans if I let her.

Certin clothes annoy her and she takes them off, mostly pants, shoes and socks...

I could go on for ages.

Im sick of the drama it takes for her to do anything and DF and I are very quickly losing our patience with her and I hate it.

I have two older DD and Im sure they were never this painful but it could be I have forgotten..

So please tell me this is normal...

DS1 is not doing anything either, ask him to pick something up that is in front of him he cant see it!! Walks around and around and past it a million times, ask him to get a jumper if lucky he will bring shorts back!!

He used to be helpful at getting things, not sure if a concentration/understanding issue or a pure I am going to be a royal PITA.

Totally normal. My 4yo takes her clothes off alot too. She used to go nuddy for a long time. I gave up trying to keep clothes on her. Unless there was real risk to her (like it was really cold and she's playing outside, or it's hot and sunny and she might get sunburnt) I just let her be. DS1 is terrible for the "I can't's" and whining. He wants me to do alot for him, from feeding him, wiping his butt (I do help, but he has to try first!) to dressing him. But I just don't. I don't buy into it. I know he can do it himself, and even if he can't he has to try. If he doesn't do it I give him 5mins and then leave him where he's standing. Nasty maybe, but I don't have all day to be waiting around for him to do what needs doing. He's quickly learning that he does it himself or it doesn't get done. If he doesn't get dressed, there's usually consequences, like he can't come to the shop/preschool/playgroup. Or he goes in his jammies. If he doesn't eat dinner he doesn't get yogurt or fruit or the occaisional choccy bicky. He's started in the last few weeks to come to me after a tanty or whatever and saying 'I ready now mum', And we do what we have to with no fuss, or he'll just do what needs doing by himself if he can. The penny is dropping that sadly for him, the world does not revolve around him and his wants and needs. I have other things to do too!!
