SO DD has had a very mild case of HFMD. The blisters have now gone from her face, hands, feet and inside her mouth. I can't see anything except for one red mark where a blister once was.
She's right to go out in public now yes? We have a party today and I need to get the kids there!!!!! hehe
I know it stays in her poo for a few weeks.... but that doesn't mean we have to stay home does it?
I think the general rule of thumb with HFMD is that they are contagious for 3-6 days. So if she is past that then I would say she is fine. Just take some hand sanitizer just incase and clean her hands whenever u can.
It's been 9 days now. Should I ask if anyone minds? I really don't think she could pass it on to anyone now unless she rips her nappy off and flings her poo everywhere.
Maybe if you mention it to them they can make up their own minds whether they will steer clear of your DD. I doubt she would be contagious anymore. If the blisters have gone then her body has faught off the virus.
We currently have it at the moment!
Child care said he can come back when the blisters have scabbed over or dried up. That's when they are not infectious anymore.

Victorian govt says that exclusion from school is necessary until all blisters have dried, so I would go by that and say it is fine to go.
Thanks. I've let them know via message and will see if MIL finishes work early today and I'll drop her off there to be safe, otherwise I'll wait to hear from the other Mums. I don't want to risk anyone else getting it, but I'm confident that she won't pass it on (and I'll be sanatising like a crazy woman!).
DS had HFMD and we were told to keep them away from daycare/kids etc till the blisters dried up. DS had a fairly bad case and it took about 10 days till they were all gone. I would say at 9 days you should be fine especially if there are no visable blisters.

When DD had it the Dr at the hospital told us it is still contagious up to 3 weeks after the blisters are gone and can be transmitted via bodily fluids, so make sure she doesn't share drink bottles or shares toys around.
Thanks everyone. She had a great time and noone had a problem. I was armed with sanitiser and just followed her around all day.
