DD is 16 months old and doesn't want her "ninny" anymore :(
She had her last feed on Thursday night and has just not asked for it since. I am sort of in shock.
I wish I knew that feed was our last one! It was a nice one though, when she finished she gave me a kiss on my arm before she rolled over to sleep so she must have known it was the last one :(
Oh I am not handling it well at all, and I was the person who was "only going to do it for six months"

Do you still feel full? (of milk i mean).
When you come out of the feeling of shock, remember to celebrate the fact that you DD had 16 months of breast milk goodies, you two had that special bonding for 16 months, she will have health benefits right now and in her adult life thanks to your experience of bf-ing. That is something to remember and celebrate.
There may even be times ahead, when she hurts herself, or is ill, when she might ask for a comfort suck. The memory of comfort from you.
Gigi (the person who was worried we wouldn't get to the four weeks mark, but we made it to four years, LOL. I think my initial goal was one year, but it was so hard for the first four months, my goal quickly became "the next 24 hours" every day. Until at four months, suddenly, we both "got it".
Thanks ladies. It is hard, but I am pretty proud that it was her choice. I keep telling myself she must feel pretty safe and secure with the life we are giving her... And is confident without her ninny.
The boobs were pretty full and sore until today... They seem a lot softer now?
I think I am finding it hard mostly because breastfeeding has been such a huge part of being her mum if that makes sense?

Oh hun, that is hard :hug: I think it's always hard when they decide they are done before we do, but even more so when it's sudden. DS1 did the same thing at 14 months and like you I had no idea that it was our last feed :( Once I got used to the idea and discovered that we still had a very close relationship with lots of cuddles it got easier, so I hope that happens for you too.

That makes perfect sense, nourishing a baby is a huge part of their early life. I see it as a gift. One that they might not consciously remember or recognise when they're older, so that's why it's so selfless, cos you're doing it purely for them, and their health. Everything else you do in life, you usually get some acknowledgement for, except for stuff you do for your child. The bresatfeeding was a pure gift, that's why it's so precious.
