If you went overdue with 1st baby - what happened with 2nd?

My first baby was 9 days over and never engaged properly, was quite high when my waters broke and even after 22 hours labour was still not properly established.

This baby is different, is quite low although not engaged yet, but I am getting the shooting / stabbing pains in my vagina where I can feel baby's head / arm punching me!

So I'm 38w2d and OVER it! I'm ready for this baby to come now - well ok, next week, I need my DH home & he's on his last FIFO swing at work before EDD.

So please tell me your experiences - were you overdue then overdue or overdue then early or overdue then right on time?? :)

Overdue 9 days with DD, right on time with DS. DS was much lower, so I was more over it than ever was with DD.

I went 3 days over with DD (threatened prem labour at 29 weeks but she hung on!).
I went 12 days over with DS. He was engaged at 24 weeks and I had heaps of prelabour from 36-37 weeks but he still decided to take his sweet time!
I'm hoping I'll go a few days early with this one... Just for something different! Haha!

12 days over with first son, 7 days over with 2nd son. Both times they weren't engaged and I had no prelabour before hand. Both perfectly cooked.

14 days over with dd1
12 days over with dd2
11 days over with dd3

Dd2 didn't engage till labour started, dd3 still wasn't engaged when I was in labour, so I just did a lot of squats with my contractions to open my pelvis up more :)

I went 8 days over with DS but never went into labour on my own. I was induced, but it ended in an emergency c/s. Who knows how far over I'd have gone if I wasn't induced.

DD was engaged on and off from 32 weeks. I went into labour one day past my EDD, though I was 3 days over by the time she finally arrived!

DS overdue 12 days, induced labour, 4 hours.
DD 3 days over, natural labour, 2 hours.

DS was engaged for a while (a couple of weeks), whereas DD didn't engage before labour. Both labours my waters didn't break until the pushing stage, both labours were quite similar even though the first was induced.

DS1 was 2 days over, DS2 was 4 weeks early.

Subbing very interested as my twins where c section and ds 3 was 5 days over so wondering when this one will arrive!

DD1 - 12 days over, never engaged, still not properly engaged after 30+ hrs of labour.
DD2- 2 days over, engaged from around 30 weeks, much lower and got those stabbing pains you're talking about, lots of pre-labour.

DD1 - 8 days over
DD2 - 7 days over
DS - 2 days early
DD3 - 5 days over

I expected DD2 to be over. Didn't expect DS to come early (for me :lol:)! Then coz he did, I thought DD3 might be early too... nope!

DD1 I think was the only one of mine to engage before labour. DD2 & DS didn't. Honestly can't remember with DD3, but I doubt it, since at my last appointment she was in the right position, but was born posterior.

DS1 was induced @ 10 days over
DS2 spontaneous labor at 3 days over

DD1 - 4 days late spontaneous labour

DD2 - 9 days late, induced

DS1 - 12 days overdue - induced labour - epidural -baby went into distress - emergecy c section

DS2- 1 day overdue - spontaneous labour - no pre labour indications - 4.5 hour labour
- fully dilated when we reached hospital:o drug free birth!!

So so different!!

DD1 was 14 days over and i went into spontaneous labour.
DD2 tried coming at 35 weeks(waters broke) but she changed her mind and came at 36 weeks, she never enganged until i was in full active labour

i was 3 weeks early with my first

4 days over with 2nd induced

with my third who knows lol

DS1 - 16 days early spontaneous labour
DS2 - 14 days early spontaneous labour

Thinking i should be prepared for an early arrival.

DS1 arrived at 41 weeks and 3 days (I refuse to say 10 days over as you are not really overdue until you get past 42 weeks gestation ;) )
DS2 arrived at 40 weeks and 1 day
The twins arrived at 38 weeks exactly (spontaneous labour, no induction).
