red velvet coloring help

ok Ii have a recipe that calls for 60ml of coloring I have some wilton red food coloring paste how much of the paste do I substitute for 60ml of coloring

Hi Rach, its not really reccomended to sub a gel or paste for the liquid,that being said, I did it once for DS birthday cake, I had the americolor gel and watered it down to the same liquid amount, if that makes sense.

I think its not reccomended as the liquid makes up part of the total liquid amount in the recipe? ITMS!

its the wilton (no taste) red coloring LOL, I had read the liquid colors your standard queen can make the cake bitter LOL, good thing I am doing a trial,

I did this the other day...I got 60mls of water and added enough americolor gel until it looked about the same colour as the queen stuff turned out perfect but sorry I cant help with measurements.

so 60ml water plus paste
