Pre TTC - things to do?
So excited that I get to post in here FINALLY
I was a member a few years ago when I was planning a family with my now ex-H and am grateful that it never eventuated, for obvious reasons. But I am back and in love with a man who wants to start a family with me, and who I love with all my heart. We are very excited!
My TTC journey begins in December!!
I have started making a list of things I need to do pre TTC to make sure we are as prepared as possible. Plus its making the time go faster for both of us, knowing there are things still yet to do. I am going on a girls-only holiday to Thailand in November, otherwise we would be trying now!
So here is my checklist and I'm wondering if you guys can add/change/subtract/etc!!
- Updated my Private Health Insurance
- Spoken to my doctor about immunisations/boosters and general pre-pregnancy health
- Booked in for a pap smear
- Bought a pregnancy multi
- Changed my diet to more fresh/organic greens and healthy stuff
- Set up a high interest savings account and budgeted for the next year or so
- DP saw the doctor about general health/diet etc
- Booked in to see the dentist
What am I missing?

sounds like you have it covered!
Just wanted to wish you good luck :)

You are all set!
Get your DH to start taking zinc tablets. Increases sperm count :)
-
i agree with the zinc tablets for your DP!
the other thing you may want to consider is whether you plan to chart etc - you may want to buy some OPKs in the next couple of months so you have them on hand.
best of luck!

Start living on one income now. We started 6 months before we started TTC. It means that we are now completely used to one income, and also have a good amount of savings behind us should we need it (we haven't touched it yet) I am staying at home comfortably, and have no plans to go back to work unless I decide I want to.
Get fit - I know you've got healthy eating in there, but physical exercise is great too. I was pretty fit before pregnancy, and very active during, and I think it helped me all the way through, incuding labour, birth and recovery.
I can't think of anything else that you haven't covered. So exciting!

Good ideas ladies!
If you're going to chart/temp etc, join Fertility friend and do their charting course... very interesting and will give you alot of advice and knowledge on what happens to our bodies during our cycle.
Also, go get a blood test to see what your general health is like (liver function, kidney function, blood count, immunity etc). That way if you need to have BTs during the pregnancy, you have a good baseline to compare it to.
That's all I can think of!
Good Luck Aimz :)
