Concerned about puregon response

Hi all!!
First time poster, just seeking some advise and encouragement regarding my second cycle of IUI.
I am cycle d12 today, have been on 50u of Puregon since d8 (as I over stimulate on more).
Had a follow up ultrasound this morning and have one follicle on the left currently at 15mm, nothing on the right. My uterine lining is only 5mm.
My specialist is aiming to do IUI in 3 days time, with hcg trigger shot 12 hours prior.
I am concerned that my follicle will be too small and my lining wi be too thin for my IUI!!!
What do you girls think? Any advice greatly appreciated!!

Im not really a seasoned IUI person but definately have seen my fair share of IVF. I thought if I put a post in then it might bump your thread back up and someone with a clue might be able to help :)

If you are not responding on the puregon, ie: the follie doesn't get much larger, they may up your dose for a day or two then trigger or they may cancel the cycle. You only need to get to 16mm.... so not far to go. I was a slow responder then when they upped my dose, my follie size just took off.
I only did three rounds of IUI, so not that experienced, but I hope my response has helped

15mm doesn't seem too small when you still have 3 days to go. TBH I don't know about the lining - I was never told what mine was. How much have they dropped your dose this time? Going from over stimming to 1 follie seems a bit unusual - although I've only done ivf, so I'm guessing iui is different - they probably don't want you to release 12 eggs at once! Are you able to contact your clinic to see if they can shed some light on what is the normal range? Sorry I can't be more helpful - Good luck!

I have tried one previous cycle at a higher dose, but responded with 4 follicles resulting in the cycle being cancelled. This was a real low point for me and DH as we have been trying for 2 and a half years, with 6 months of clomid earlier this year. Our first IUI was unsuccessful, and together with last month being cancelled I am just super anxious to go well this month!
I am also worried about whether I should be having further monitoring ie. Blood test as well as my ultrasounds, to ensure that my eggs are actually mature before I take the trigger shot?
Do other patients have blood work done prior to IUI?
Things are just seeming so unsure lately, and I am beginning to wonder if I'm just in a funk or if it is time to move on to IVF.
Any advice would be great!!

You'll certainly get blood tests with ivf - but hopefully you won't be needing it! I can definitely relate to how you're feeling, it's no fun at all :hug:

I'm pretty sure the purpose of the trigger is to stimulate the eggs to mature and release, which is why you have to take it at a certain time before your iui.

ultimately they want the follicle between 18 and 25mm from memory - and they grow 1-2 mm a day - so at 15 mm with three days to go, that sounds ok to me

i never had bloods with IUI, only ever one scan - and they decided on IUI day from that based on follicle size on the day

I am an IUI patient with clomid/puregon. My first cycle was cancelled because I didn't respond, I had 2 follies get to 14mm then stop growing, second cycle- first on puregon everything worked out well but AF arrived early so unsuccessful.
I started on 50iu on CD7, then I went to my FS on CD11 and had bloods and an ultra sound. he increase my dose to 75iu and I went back on CD14 for more bloods but no scan. I got a call that afternoon asking my to come in for a scan the next day which showed my follies were finally past that 14mm mark (15.8mm on right and 16.4mm on left. He had ne up my dose to 100iu for 3 more days then trigger on the third day CD18 then had my IUI on CD20. he told mw follies usually grow 1-2mm per day and once the get over 16mm they "take off" and get bigger faster.
I was supposed I didn't have a scan the morning of the IUI but then again my ovulation pains were so intense that I probably didn't need one.
It sounds like I have a lot more monitoring then you though?
I figure my FS has been doing this for over 20 years so he must know what he is talking about.

As for the lining..... Anything over 6mm is good for implantation :)

We have decided to move on from IUI next month, so we are about to begin the whirlwind that is IVF. Very scared, but excited to have some better odds behind us!!
