Theme Parks

We are going to the Gold Coast in Oct- Nov this year and I have been looking into the Theme PArks and wondering????

What ones are best for 3 year olds?
I know Sea World would have animals, for entertainment... but do any of the parks have rides suitable for little ones?

We are going to be there for DS's 3rd Birthday so we thought we'd take him to atleast one , for the day.... and maybe get one oif those multi day passes...

Which one is the best for his age?
Which are worth going to at all? I only went as a 10 year old and havent been to the gold Coast since...so exciting holiday never the less...


Any ideas or advice would bve great :) We will also have a 3 month old bub but im sure that wont change things tooo much :)

Hi babe- just looked at your ticker and nearly died! 8 days to go!!!! :leap: so excited for you :D It depends on what your DS likes, i reckon wet and wild is a good one for kiddies. Dreamworld has hardly anything for little kids that age.....Sea world is good for little kids as well. I don't go to movieworld ever so i can't help you there...

We just took our 2.5 and 1yos to Sea World and they both LOVED it.

We saw the dolphin show, which had enough movement to keep even my 1yo entertained, and the Sesame St show.

Sesame St Beach is an area designed purely for kids - all the rides are height-limited but most of them if the kids are under the min height, they can go on with an adult. So DH took our two on and they LOVED loved loved it. Seriously we spent about an hour on the rides! They would get off and then go round, line up and go again.

We didn't bother with any of the other shows or rides.

They also loved the penguins, Shark Bay and the sting ray feeding. The ray feeding is at 11am. Recommend you or your DH gets a cup of fish to feed the rays, line up at about 5 to 11, as they only have a limited number of cups. But it is worth it - DD was amazed at being able to touch the rays! Even DS was enraptured by them! They come right up and you can touch them.

Don't let DS feed them though - they don't have teeth but they do have crushing plates in their mouth and DH copped a fair bruise on his hand!!!

I wouldn't do Dreamworld or Movie World until the kids were about 5 maybe.

Being a local I would say seaworld but depends what your DS likes

Definitely Seaworld. It has attractions and rides that are good for little kids. DS is 4 and we went to Seaworld, Movieworld and Wet n Wild in April. He didn't like wet n wild at all and it was the one he was most looking forward to. Movieworld has some rides for little ones but not as many as Seaworld. Dreamworld would be my next choice but it has a lot for big people and I thought the Wiggles world wasn't so great.

Another Sea World fan!! We didn't do the other theme parks so my view is a bit biased but Sea World really was fantastic for all ages. The rides are fun (we had a ball playing tag team with my parents!) and the shows and attractions are great! DD was only 7.5 months old when we went but she really enjoyed the shows (lots of smiles and squeals, lol) and was mesmerised by the animals. She especially loved the underwater aquarium. It was pretty special.

You'll have a ball. Children's tickets are from 3 years up. If you plan on going to one of other parks as well, you might be better off buying one of the combo tickets which gives you entry to a couple of the parks under one ticket price. Have a look at the Seaworld website for more info. Also, do you have an Entertainment Book? The prices are usually discounted for Ent Book members.
