Baby Due 4 Days before the wedding... WWYD?

I have been invited to my cousins wedding on the 26th of November. I really want to go, I heart weddings. BUT I am due to have a baby on the 22nd of November. Obviously I could come early (or, knowing my babies very late!) or I could still be in hospital on the day, or in labour... or anything!!

I have no idea what to RSVP back? On One hand I don't want to accept and waste the cost of three extra people for them that don't show up, and on the other I'll be super annoyed if I'm home on the day but I've RSVPed that I can't go!

I'd call your cousin - I'm sure they would completely understand your dilemma! And I'm sure they can be flexible for three people without disrupting anything!!

I'd call and discuss it with them. Maybe if bubby hasnt come, you could go to the ceremony. Or maybe they can fit in an extra 3 at the last minute. Just be prepared to be sitting on the kids table :)

We added an extra 1 the day before our wedding. It was tight but it worked.

Just say you dont want to cause any stress, you'd love to come but these are the circumstances.

Ask them if you can say yes but if you can't go your present to them can be you covering the cost of your seats at the reception...?

Things always come up before and after people RSVP. We had friends ring 4 days before wedding saying they couldnt come to ceremony and reception due to her having a bleed in early preg and ment to be on bed rest but she wanted to come to part of it, we told them to do what felt best for them and to not push self we would understand. (in end they didnt come to any of it as she had another bleed)
We also had DH boss call him day before wedding at 1630 to say him and wife not coming no reason!!! He did get 1 person from his work to replace at last minute but we still had empty seats.

Sorry all my wawful what I am saying as not unusal for people to need to change what they have RSVP and maybe your cousin could ring someone else at last min if u were in hospital. As even with a newborn you could go to wedding if feeling up to it!

I am in extactly the same situation as you. DD is flowergirl 3rd December and this bubby is due 8th December. The wedding is 4 hours from home and I am going to go. DH is not happy that I'm going and really wishes I wouldn't go but I just can't miss DD being a flowergirl.
If DD wasn't a flowergirl I wouldn't be going.
How far away is the wedding? If it is close to home that doesn't involve you travelling I'd go but if you have to travel I wouldn't go.
The day of my wedding I had 10 people pull out the reception - these things happen and I'm sure your cousin would understand if you are in labour/hospital.

I'm just praying my waters don't break in the middle of the ceremony or on the dance floor while I'm cutting a groove.

it's only 20minutes away max so it's not far away which is good. the reception place is closer to the hospital than my house ^^;

Seriously, I'd call, let them know what's happening and take it as it comes. You're family, you're not making up some lame excuse, you're being upfront. I'd be understandable if I were the bride!

I'd go. You can't miss a wedding. Have the baby on the dance floor if you have to. Alternatively, take a newborn in a sling. Either way, covered. :D

I spoke to his fiancé (because let's face it, the guys just don't know the gig!) and said we'd accept, but if I'm in the throws of labour or in hospital still we will be happy to cover the cost of our meal. She said not to worry as it's a buffet anyway and she completely understands. so, hoorah! Weddinggggg! You're right audax, you really can't miss a wedding ;)
I'll feel pretty horrible if I birth on the dance floor tho... Might take the lime light of the bride and groom a little?
