Are all created equal

I just tried out my baby carrier from DS2 and it blows! its a real bad design so Im looking at slings, and what I really want to know is... are all sling created equal? they all look the same but prices can vary alot.
Also, is there anything you cant do with a sling on? some say you can do yoga with baby on board.
Any tips or tricks would also be appreciated

Im leaning toward the "sleepy baby" wrap, its got lots of good reviews.
who uses padded slings?
Ring slings?
Pouches?

I have the sleepy wrap and whilst it seems a little daunting with all thy material once you do it a couple of times it is easy. The only Down side I would think would be hot in summer but my DS was born in April so I have had lots of use out of it already and will get a lot more before I have to worry about being too hot.

No they certainly aren't all equal. some of them really do blow.
I think that wrap is like the hug a bub, right? if so, then it's good for little ones, yeah. Very comfy for both of you.
some slings are good, some bite the big one.

A wrap would be most secure for doign things like yoga, I would think. only when the're very little and you can hold them in snuggly

Close carrier was our best investment for when bubba was smaller and the ellaroo ring sling for everything after that (although i also used it when she was super brand new too...).

what i like about the ring sling is that it fits in a handbag so when you are out and about it is easy to whip out.

I actually bypassed conventional slings and bought 5m of jersey t-shirt fabric (you know, the stretchy kind...). I cut it lengthways down the middle, and ended up with 2 wrap style slings. (great for if one gets dirty) Youtube had a great video with instructions on how to tie it really easily.

It's my best sling, surprisingly! I spent $25 on fabric.

I like the idea of making extras- but here the fabrics shops are limited so I might ask my sister to go spotlight or somewhere and get some to bring over when she comes.
We have ordered a Minizone sling. Im excited about it
