Baby is still not engaged?

Hey ladies, I'm full of Q's this morning!

Is it normal that my baby isn't engaged already. I'm 37 weeks. A lot of the other ladies bubs are but mine still isn't at this stage? Mw said she is still floating so what the?:)

Can you get induced if your baby isn't engaged or does that cause more risk for a c-section?

Also my bub's spine isn't completely turned, so it is off centre slightly so was suggested Spinning babies? f it isn't exactly lined up will this make labour even more intense.

Don't stress babe :hug: some babies don't engage until during labour!!! Gl with your impending birth!!! She's nearly here xxxxx

It's all pretty unknown and scary isn't it?! :hug: try not to worry (but understandable that you are) - bub has time to engage, it might not happen til past your EDD but that doesn't mean anything is wrong, so give it time. FWIW DD didn't engage until 41 weeks for me, went back 2 days later and she'd floated back out. I was devestated! Next day she was engaged again, and she came out eventually so all went well in the end ;)

Whilst it's hard not to measure up to whats happening with everyone else, do remember that every baby and Mumma's body are different, each with their own way of doing things.

I truly believe the last few weeks are the looooooongest part of a pregnancy - so close yet so far. Wishing you a beautiful birth when it happens!

Bubs was engaged at check up yesterday and was feeling intense pressure. But all gone today so I wouldn't be surprised if he has floated back out! Accupressure and acupuncture works wonders for helping bubs engage.

My bub never engaged until during labour. She was 'still floating' for ages and slightly posterior. I was induced, and the Dr was concerned we'd need a c-section but all went ok. My first never engaged until later in labour - I'm not sure as I was induced and then had an epidural during labour, with my second, he engaged but not fully until just before I started labour

Neither of mine engaged until my waters broke.

Spinning babies website is a great one to try. Moved DS from completely posterior to just lightly off.

No need to be engaged. It could still happen or might not until labour, no problem. Baby and your body know what they're doing, don't worry.

As for spine being off centre, do you mean it's to the side of your tummy slightly? Not straight up the middle? If so, that's perfect! The best position for labour is LOA (check spinning babies site) which means head down and back to the front but slightly left of the centre.

Curly, don't worry, my baby still isn't engaged, and my OB doesn't seem concerned, even though I've only got 18 days max until induction. I've gone from 3/5 above brim to 4/5 above brim in the last week, so floaty baby for me. And mostly bubs is head down, bum in ribs, and spine to one side...

Phew Kimbles so my babe isn't the only one indecisive if she wants to take the plunge head down:) Had a look at Spinning baby, yeah it has some great tips and tools.

CurlyGirly, I was in your shoes recently. Every appointment the doctor would point out that bubs was still "floating". She did engage at about 39 weeks, but then popped back up a couple of days later. The morning before I gave birth i had an appointment at 11, she was STILL not engaged, but I went into labour just after I left the doctors office and DD was born at 4pm that same day! Very fast labour and birth (2 hours).

I'm basically living on my fitball at home to try and get bubs down!!
