Anyone used Neocontrol for pelvic floor muscles?

its a special chair you sit on and it help with weakened pelvic floors, just wondering if anyone has completed treatment and how they found it, did you get good results?

Olive I used it after ds, he was engaged for the last 6 weeks and my pelvic floor was badly damaged and i was numb too, I had 6 treatments in the chair and there was a big difference, only run into problems if I sneeze now.

cool, i just had my first of 18 treatments, i have 2 a week for 9 weeks. were you sore after??

A bit uncomfortable and achy, but walking around after helped.

Who referred you to it? Or can you self refer? I have the worst pelvic floor - I wet myself every time I sneeze - and I have never had a good pelvic floor b4 kids so you can imagine what it is like after. I have tried pelvic floor exercises - but I'm honest enough to say I don't do they regularly enough to tell if they make a difference... Looking after a special needs child, and having my own health problems, means I have on average 5 specialist appointments per week. This week it is 7. I don't have enough time to get everything done, and unfortunately doing PFE is classed as an non essential extra. If I could just do a course of sitting down it is easier to at least schedule in than doing the exercises on my own.

I'm assuming it is done through a physio? Do a lot of physio's have them, or are they are to find? How much is the cost?

:hug: yael, this is through my gyno/ob/urologist, im also having surgery for mine...but i have to go twice a week for 9 weesk, takes 20 mins each time, i pay $70.30 a week, but i get it all back from medicare

Mine was through my ob and was fully covered by medicare too, although I would pay in full and claim it back.

I asked my GP about this today.. she gave me a name of a dr to call and find out about what details she needs to give him for a referral.

I need a new obs.. It's been 4 years since my last pap smear whilst I try and make a decision on who to change to. Who do you guys see?

BR i think we see the same person!! i only had my second time yesterday as i was sick last friday, found it more uncomfy that last week and its only going to get more uncomfy :o

Yes that's my ob! He was great at sorting out my issues so I didn't have to live with numbness and leaking.

Sounds interesting. I will need to google it, as I too have 'issues.' Do they do it all over Melbourne or just in Mitcham?

I googled it and found a place in sunshine that has it.. But then i'm not sure if I can get it done with medicare. I am hopping to try and find somebody closer than Mitcham - my GP suggested Ian B@r@b@sh (totally get the non google thing!) - not sure what his specality is.

TBH, and i know this sounds terrible, but I'm not in pain (like I am with my teeth grinding - I broke a tooth and just got a crown done), or about to have a breakdown, and so DS therapies (weekly speech, OT, psychology, me seeing his psychologist to work on parenting - and then the odd ones like physio etc and we want to start swimming to help his SPD) it takes priority over me wetting myself.

I'm so used to being like an old lady and wetting myself every time I laugh, sneeze, cough or just leaking (especially at gym).. But it doesn't rate high up enough to have the time to deal with it.

I have tried PFE, but not enough or consistently to achieve anything, but I have always had issues, ever since I could remember (like being 10). But then again I don't know if PFE would do anything for me anyway. And again, there is too much in my life to commit to doing PFE every day not matter what the advantage (I'm lucky if I eat 2 times a day, and I'm not exaggerating about this either!). But I'm so worried they won't treat me until I've tried everything else first.

yael im also having a repair done to my bladder in november to place a sling under my bladder, definatly follow it up, i know you/re busy with DS but you do need to look after you too :hug:
