I was going to post this in another thread but it was so irrelevant by the time I finished typing I thought I better start my own!
I just took out PHI [with Australian Unity] via iSelect.
It seemed the easiest way to compare cover etc and I think I have what I want.
But I guess I am curious...
With hospital cover, i thought all I wanted was a basic package - and I have somehow ended up covered for pregnancy and birth, which is grouse should I ever choose that option of care in the future but it wasn't really necessary.
The extras package is fairly extensive and definitely what i was looking for, i got it mostly for dental, physio, chiro.
After all these years of putting off getting it, i also realised that i put off using other services because of their expense, what i pay in PHI i will end up saving a fair bit from using those services so it worked out as well worth it, in theory at least.
For those of you that have cover, I guess my question is does a more 'top shelf' extras package tend to go hand in hand with high hospital cover? (particularly australian unity).
How much do you pay for your cover (monthly) and what does it include?
I am going to call them to clarify everything but interested to know what other families have etc.
