We had our cleaner come for the first time today - she's awesome!!
However, She had trouble getting the soap scum off my shower screen in the ensuite (Um, yeah, me too, hence it being in a bad state :redface: )
My house is only 4 years old - but I am laaaazy when I come to showers - hence the build up :shhh:
What's the best thing to break down / scrub off soap scum from shower screens? I want to give them a really thorough clean so they are then easy to maintain

Use a hard bristled brush to scrub it on, leave for 5 mins and rinse.
Elbow grease. Get a non-scratch kitchen scourer (I banish the old ones from my kitchen to the bathroom or laundry after a soak in bleach), and even some dish liquid (in a bucket, foamed up with some warm water). Dish washing liquid isn't usually as harsh on skin (or breathing it in!) as shower cleaners, and just give it a real good go. Just do a bit at a time if that's all you can be bothered doing. I hate doing the shower too, but once it's clean, it's much easier to keep it clean on a regular basis. And, it doesn't take too long either.
We use shower power (it doesn't smell too bad), and the kitchen non-scrath scourer. Every few weeks I guess... :whip:

Method have an awesome shower cleaner.
enjo have a product called calcium dissolver or something similar. its brilliant for shower screens and doesn't need heaps of elbow grease
ceramic cook top cleaner - I haven't tried it but saw it written on the back of the packaging while cleaning the cook top.
Once you've got it clean, invest in a squeegee and wipe down once a day- i'm extremely lazy but this was an easy habit to get into
Shower Power - if you spray it on, spread it around and leave it for a while to dissolve stuff, then come back and do a light scrub. It's good stuff.
I just use an Enjo mitt every couple of days (while I'm in the shower). But I think any non scratch scourer works.

Have you tried CLR? I don't have a glass screen, but have heard it works well.
I used those bathroom magic erasers and ALOT of elbow grease. i found they worked better than other spray on stuff but was exhausted afterwards lol. But I'd never seen my shower so sparkley!
Ohh I am glad I came across this thread. I was going to come on and post a thread titled "How do grown ups clean their shower screens?" :). It is the one thing I am absolutely hopeless at. Everytime DH sees an ad for a 'miracle' shower cleaner, he says "Oh god" because he knows I'll go buy it.
Looks like I'm off to work up a sweat cleaning the screen lol.
