Hair pulling/scratching/biting... is this normal?
DD recently turned 2. Ever since she was about 18 months she has pulled my hair - it's getting worse and worse. (Advice to tie my hair back makes no difference - she just pulls the top of my hair which is even more painful).
It will start off as a hug, but then she'll wrap her arms around my head and pull my hair, and kind of bare her teeth and make a noise - and yet it's not like she's intentionally trying to hurt me.
I hope this sounds familiar to someone - it's very hard to explain in writing!
As a toddler she's always been "rampant" as we call it - she does strange things like grabs her toys and shakes them rapidly while making "rampant" noises :) ... None of this is done with any anger or violence - it's just like a strange outburst of energy.
Now she has started biting - she'll intentionally BITE my hair - she'll grab a fistful and bite it , and then spit it out... And she will go to kiss me/cuddle me, but it will end with her trying to bite me, again not with any intent to hurt me from what I can gather. She bit DH today and left a red mark!
Not sure what to do about it - she ignores my stern tone of voice. And not sure if it's normal.
Apart from these odd habits she's a pretty normal toddler. There's a lot of whingeing and daily tantrums at the moment, but I know that's normal!
