If you could have any job in the world....

what would it be?

Hi ladies,

Am having my midlife crisis and looking at a new career/retraining.

Would love to know what you would all do if money/time/study were not limiting factors?

An independent midwife :) I've also always wanted to open an information and support centre for younger/disadvantaged mums, offering free or cheap IM, doula and breastfeeding support and services. Hopefully I'll realise the dream someday.

I would have a BIG property and take in all unwanted, neglected, mistreated animals. Big and small. All would be welcome. I would work at rehoming what I could and give what I could not a great life for the rest of their days.

If I had to choose a more realistic job, I would like to continue what I am now and thats vet nursing. Although I have always thought becoming a paramedic would be great but I have an injury to my right arm that prevents that from ever happening.

If money wasn't a consideration it would definately be SAHM - but I would also like to volunteer my time/skills to charity organisations one or two days a week.

If I had the guts to get out there and retrain and start again - Interior Designer.

But ultimately, I quite like what I do in general, sometimes it gets a bit tired but I think that's because I've been working in the industry for twelve years. I think even interior design would get like this after that much time.

I'm a barrister. I love it.

I'd buy a huge property and have little houses set up, like a tree hugger birth centre.

Of late i was thinking i would love being a MW or Doula, something odd but i would love to be a librarian :)

I am another who would love to look after and rehome neglected animals. And obviously be a proudly employed by myself as a lotto winner

I love my current job (research/lecturing) but if I got bored with it I would become a coroner and do autopsies.

I'm also bored with my current job, so currently looking into starting some part time study mid next year once bub is a bit bigger - studying environmental biology and conservation so I can work on managing and rehabilitating native animal populations after mining/construction :)

A writer. So I could take my work with me wherever I go, I could stay at home and write... and if DH worked from home it would be even MORE perfect :D

Seeing as I have all types of gaming consoles (bar 2 or 3), I've always had an addiction to games.

I love my job, but my dream job is to be a video game tester, which means testing games at home, which also means I'd get to spend more time with DS (and DD when she's born) at home instead of having to commute to go to work :)

Teacher librarian - got the qualifications just trying to find a job (strongly prefer secondary school and permanent) - love being in the library in a school setting - public libraries aren't the same - it's the interaction with staff and students that I love

Definitely a midwife. Even if I won millions I Would still want to work as a midwife. And if I had millions I would open a private birth centre that took on "high risk" women :)
