Need to do a toy cull and totally lost

Ok, the kids toys have become overwhelming and with Christmas coming up many have to go. What remains needs to be better managed.

There are so many little bits everywhere. Barbie bits, Strawberry Shortcake, Lalaloopsy, old smurfs, Shrek figurines, Sylvanian Families etc It is just overflowing from tubs (well not really, they seem to sit empty), bits fall everywhere. The dog ate a Sylvanian Family member, one of the ones that has been discontinued. Honestly if I could throw the lot out and start again I would.

So how would you start? I do have a lot of small stackable tubs (14.5 litre), so I can sort away. I do admit to having trouble sorting the good bits from bad, like the tiny shoes and accessories that accompany girlie toys. Thankfully I have no trouble with the Polly pocket stuff, all of that can go in the bin ;)

Freecycle anything you don't want anymore :).

Must be the season for it, I just did a massive toy cull today LOL! I hate lots of little bits and pieces ugh! Small tubs for the fiddly bits are probably a good idea. I put things like Fisher Price little people, dinosaur figurines, etc into large snaplock bags and then into our toy box. This makes cleaning up easier, I just chuck everything back in the bag when they've finished playing with them and it stops them from being scattered throughout the house.

I'm seriously dreading Christmas and all the toys that come with it this year...
