Have a sniff - I'd probably use them in a casserole or something, where they got a thorough cooking.
ETA - If they'd been defrosted on the kitchen bench, I'd say throw them out, but since they've never gone below fridge temp I reckon they should be fine :)
how long before their expiry date were they before you froze them?
my general rule though is if it doubt, piff it out.
I froze them the day I bought them.
I had a sniff, smelled ok?
Planning on slow cooking for four hours...
When I buy chicken from coles or Aussie Farmers or whatever, they normally are used-by at least 7 days from when I get them.
So if that's what they were and I defrosted them Sunday, they'd still be fine now :)
So I'd feel like chicken tonight ;)
Hehe thanks P... I'll give them another sniff when I get them out to cook. Seems like such a waste to throw out 1kg of chicken!
Supposed to cook them on Tuesday... Dropped the ball. Ah well.
we've all been there ;)
glad you saw them today though, and not in another week!
I hate finding manky things at the back of the fridge ...
i probably wouldnt, i have major issues with chicken thats been sitting around, even in the fridge!
On second sniff... Bit concerned. Decided against.
Now what for tea??!
I wouldn't have used them either. I'm so funny about meat. If I defrost it and don't use it that day or the next it goes to the dogs!
I wouldn't have used them either hun. You can't smell food poisoning! Hope your dinner is scrummy, whatever it is!
pasta!!
or cheesy rice, with veggies and (if you have some) ham.
No way!!!!!!
I way too long! It would have defrosted on Monday and sat in the fridge for four days, glad you aren't using it. Hope you find something yummy for dinner.
 Definitely not! Glad you decided against it! Chicken is one meat I don't mess with, even if I froze it within it's expiry date. Our dog has scored big time on a few occasions
I always wonder why it doesn't seem to make animals sick?
We need to get a dog I think ;)
We had KFC. Lazy, hot, tired, whatever... all of the above!
So did half my town by the looks of the queue we had to face!
