Haircut timing, help
I got my hair cut into a new, short style last week and I really like it and want to keep it this way for a while.
I was always told the ideal amount of time between cuts was 6 weeks. This would make it NYE and even if the salon was open, I can't go that weekend because I'm working.
5 weeks is Christmas Eve.
Do I go sooner than 5 weeks, or leave it til they open after the holidays which will be at least 7 weeks.
-
I'd probably go at 5 weeks- especially for a short hairstyle
-
I'm lucky to get 3-4 weeks out of a haircut these days because it's so short. I'd go the 5 weeks as well.
-
Yeah, go the five with a short do!
-
I would probably go 5 weeks because it is new and you don't know yet how it will look as it grows. I generally left it about 8 weeks when I had short hair because I still liked the way it looked when it was a bit longer too, so you might find you can go a bit longer next time, or that 6 weeks is the longest that you want to leave it. You will get more comfortable with it when you have had a short cut for longer.

How short is short? I have hair that is a bit above ear length and get it cut every 8 weeks or so (ideally 8 weeks but you know, stuff happens). I am getting a cut on Wednesday and it's been almost 3 months so my hair is now more of a bob - about jaw/chin length. Personally I wouldn't waste the money on getting a cut a 5 weeks, unless you think you are going to look terrible with just slightly longer hair.

It's asymmetric short-mid bob. The long side is jaw length, the short side is ear length and the back is quite short and messy
-
If you like the way it looks now then you'll probably have to maintain it pretty regular then to keep it's shape.
-
Short and messy back bit will grow out okay, but I'm not sure how the assymetrical bit will look. I still say give it 7 weeks, but then I'm really cheap!

I have a short style and usually stretch it out to 6 weeks, but by then I am feeling pretty scruffy! So I wouldn't stretch it that far if you want to look good for Christmas!
