I'm counting calories and exercising to lose my baby weight, but wanted to know if I should allow 300 or so calories when I enter my exercise into my fitness pal in addition to the exercise I'm already doing?
TIA!

Is that for breastfeeding? I would have thought 300 calories would be enough but if your milk starts to decline in quantity then you could up it to 500.
Oh ok thanks. Yeah breastfeeding, I just realized I missed that point! Lol
I allow myself 1800 a day when BF, but depending on how hard core the exercise is (say a tai bo class then a step class or hours of hiking) I allow a bit more.
Thanks Kim, I'm allowing 1800 cals now, so unless my supply drops I should leave it at that?
I'm certainly no expert so hopefully one will pop in, but for my weight (60-70kgs) and height (165cm) that works for me.
If you have a look at Calorie King dot com dot au there is quite a good assessment.
In MFP you can enter breastfeeding and it has a pre-entered range.
For exclusively breastfeed bubba it is normally 500cals extra they add to exercise.
Once baby is on solids you might choose the 3-4 feeds option etc.
I went on Jenny Craig when ds was a couple of months old and I was full time breastfeeding. I was on 1800 cals per day. ds is about 14 months old now and I will start calorie counting in the new year but will be on 1200 then. Good luck with your weight loss.
Thanks everyone :) will go check out CK :)
oh not sure if it's been mentioned but I now have an app called calorie counter on my phone, it's fantastic and way better than CK :)
