What do you think is the best oil for scars? I have a fair bit of scaring on my body, some are light stretch marks, others or dark patches caused from eczema scaring and I have fresh scars from a recent operation. Ideally I'd like to use the same thing on all of them. What have you found worked well for you?
I have heard and used Bio Oil. It was great when I was pregnant. I rubbed it into my tummy every morning and night, I don't have any stretch marks, it could be genetics :)
I used bio oil once but it didn't remove the dark scars from eczema. My stretch marks aren't actually from pg, they were from my teenage years, which is weird as I wasn't overweight? I used a basic moisturizer during pg and didn't get any stretch marks. So I don't know about genetics, I was sure I'd get stretch marks in pg as I already had some.
I have scaring on my chin from pimples and I've started using (well about three months ago) rosehip oil in the morning and ultracueticals even skin tone serum at night (both mixed in with my moisturiser, moogoo) and they're almost gone. They are both pretty exxy products but they last yonks. You only need 2-3 drops of each.
I was thinking of rose hip. And will check out ultracueticals. What moo goo moisturizer have you got? I have tried them all but not keen on any of them.
I agree with PPs, a combo of bio oil for stretch marks and scarring and rosehip for dark patches and pigmentation.
I've also used Ultraceuticals Even Skin Tone Serum and their Vitamin C products to fade pigmentation and dark spots, but go easy if you decided to introduce active ingredients - use every few nights and then build up to every night.
Rosehip is really good Cherished. A little goes a long way.
I use the a anti aging one as it'd for my face and I find it's less heavy iykwim. I'm a bit in love with it actually :):
Great advice ladies, thanks a million! I will grab some reship oil today for the dark pigmentation and some vit E oil for this new operation scar. Still not sure what to put on those old, they are sort of invisible (not purple) cause the are so old but I still want them gone! I have heard from some people that it's as good as they get but I refuse to admit defeat lol
Helle I have the anti aging in the draw, it made my ace a bit puffy and tiny red dots around my eyes :o I might try I again down the track.
i have used Rosehip oil on my DD. she has a prety nasty scar on her face from a cut... it had helped a lot
Im using bio oil for my DS he has a scar from a fall. Not sure if it will work...
