Fat malabsorption and gastro

My littlest man, DS4 is 22 mths and due to NEC and bowel perforations he has some gut issues and fat malabsorption.
Last Sunday my DS3 got gastro and it spread through everyone, DS4 was the second to get it and for a couple of days he could not keep anything down.
Everyone else was better in 2-3 days but his kept on going but it changed, he was keeping things down for hours before bringing it up, had horrid smelling pale clay like diarrhea and his belly was very distended and hard.
This went on for a few more days so on the weekend we got the locum out ( hard to get into GP's). He said it was due to irritation on the scar tissue in his gut which exacerbated his fat malabsorption issues :(
He gave him a Maxalon shot and said if it does not get better to get a barium swallow done.
The vomitting has stopped for a couple of days now but he just won't eat, when he does eat it is very low fat, bland food.
He is not in pain and is smiling but is just not himself.
He has lost so much weight, we were getting close to 9kg but have now slipped but under 8.5 kg...seriously makes me want to cry.
I am trying to get in touch with his pead now, we have a scheduled appt for Jan so being public not sure if I am going to be able to see her sooner.
Just a bit of a vent really, just feeling sorry for my baby boy :(

I would take him to be seen sooner rather then later if you can. If the emergency at PMH know you, would it be easier to take him straight there?

I don't know if it warrants the ER, he is still up and about and doing stuff with his sisters, so seems ok IYKWIM.
He has only eaten half a bit of toast this morning and a few rice biscuits...but not eating is making him feel better.
Maybe a few days on bland food will allow his gut to heal a little and he can eat a bit more.
I have a GP appt tomorrow so I will see how we go from there.

I'm sure you've thought of this already but I'll just put it out there - giving him some nutrient dense liquids (sustagen etc) to supplement his diet for a while?

I did try it, I still had some pediasure sachets here but he threw them back up :(
He is sleeping soundly now :)
