I'm done

Well our BF relationship is over. I wanted 12mths so bad but then I just kept getting reaaaaally creeped out by feeding! Shudder..

Anyways, she kinda self weaned anyways because wouldn't feed from the left and only fed for less than a minute on the right.

11mths exactly. Has been an easy but hard road, she was a perfect breastfeeder from the moment she first attached but thank god no more cracked nipples or thrush or leaking... And I can wear a normal bra!

Yay!! So that stage of our relationship is over :) not really much point to this post, just wanted to share <3

Yay! Congrats on 11 months of mummies milk :) sounds like you were both ready for the change. Can I ask why you were creeped out by feeding? Was it from cracked nipples, thrush and leaking or something else?

Well done bex! You should be extremely proud! And your DD is gorgeous and clearly thrived on mummies milk.

I have no idea!! I just got alllll shuddery and yuck. A complete aversion to it!! I havent had any of the nipple problems since about 5-6nths. Honestly just did not want to feed anymore!!
I wasnt ever one of those women who loved it in the first place lol. But I knew it was best and I am so pro BF there was no way I was going to stop earlier

I understand, some woman I've spoken to really didn't like that close contact and having bub hanging off them as such. I think it's probably hard to explain? I'm the total opposite, I love, love, love it and never want to stop lol :D

Aversion's can happen at any time, even if you have previously had great breastfeeding experiences, and they can be really hard to work through.

Yeah, I didn't want to work through it lol!
I think DD having silent reflux didn't help either because she was always screaming at me so we didn't feel close iykwim? It's different now though, we are much closer but maybe thats why I never loved it?

I know exactly how you feel hun. I have a terrible aversion to breastfeeding as well. Everytime dd attaches I want to stick my head through a glass window as a form of distraction. And it not an occasional aversion, it's every day every feed, all the time. So sometimes its not something you can just work through. So I understand. Most people just don't get it though. And I am pretty much where you are as well. DD is 10 months old and I would love to get to 12 months but I feel like I am coming to the end of my coping abilities at the same time. Well done on 11 months. I take my hat off to you... awesome work. :clap:

Sorry guys, i didn't mean it to come out like you can always work through it. I have had bfing aversion through pregnancy, and it is horrible. I know the feeling of wanting to throw the child across the room, ust to make the feeling stop. Having it with a younger bub would have been even more difficult due to the frequency of feeds, and lack of alternatives. With an older child, at least she was able to have more solids or fluids if it was a bad aversion day.

I guess i was trying to explain to Cherished that even those who had good experiences bfing (as i did for more than a year) can still get aversions at some time due to pregnancy or other issues.

No drama Hoti, I understand :) I didn't think anything negative about your post other than I hope it doesn't happen to me :redface: breastfeeding and cosleeping are two of my greatest joys with ds and I hope I never stop smiling when I look down at him feeding. I think MrsB's thread might be getting derailed by my question and i don't want to take away from her awesome 11 months of breastfeeding :cheer: Thanks for sharing your experience MrsB
