For those who have Naturally Miscarried

I am having a miscarriage. I am supposed to be just over 8weeks, but baby stopped growing a few weeks ago. I have been brown spotting since last Friday, no cramps, no fresh blood, just feeling really crappy in my body and very tired. I am really wanting to miscarry naturally, and I guess I thought something more would have happened by now. So my question is to anyone who waited it out. How long did it take for the cramping and bleeding after your brown spotting (if you had any)

The waiting has served a great purpose in allowing me to really go to the emotional part of the healing, and now with more strength I feel ready for the next stage. Any thoughts would be appreciated....

Mine was only a few days between starting to spot and bleeding heavily. It was all over for me within 10 days. I was just over 6 weeks pg.

I had brown spotting for 2 days, then what seemed like a heavy clotty AF for 4 days. So sorry hun :hug:.

I miscarried at 12 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 6 - 7 weeks. I had very mild cramping on a Thursday night, all day Friday. I started spotting brown blood on the friday afternoon and started bleeding red blood by lunchtime the following day. That day i passed a lot of blood and clots. The following day (Sunday) I had severe contraction like cramps all day. On Monday a passed a very large clot. The cramping and bleeding slowed down to normal period pain after that and I bled for about 10 days afterwards getting gradually lighter until the last couple of days was just spotting. I hope this helps.

I'm so sorry you have to experience this and completely understand where you're coming from about feeling stronger somewhat now. I felt that, for me, naturally miscarrying and being really present throughout the process, while incredibly painful emotionally, also helped me to heal.

I had the spotting for a week and a half before it started and then very heavy and cramping for a night, then like a normal AF for about a week. I was 9 weeks.

With my natural ones the bleeding started within a couple of days, but the pain wasn't there the whole time. At the start I would get what I assume are contractions - extremely painful bursts of period type pain - then once I had passed a few clots, I just kept bleeding for a few days, very heavily.

When I had a d&c, it wasn't like that, there was virtually no pain, but a lot of blood. After 6 weeks of that I ended up having a d&c.

For one of mine, i had brown spotting and cramps on and off for a week and bit, then I had some bleeding that lasted almost 8 weeks. it was a bit hard going, and probably should of been a D&C but OB wasn't for it (I miscarried at 10 weeks...baby stopped at 8 weeks)

another one I had (later in the first tri), started off as spotting the day before then the following lunchtime was hard and fast for a couple of hours where towards the end I passed the baby. after that it practically stopped. some light period-like bleeding for about 5ish days.

I would go for as long as you are comfortable. I am sorry that you are going through this :hug:

I just wanted to say for you to be careful of infection. I totally understand the want for naturally birthing your baby but you need to take care of yourself aswell.

Have you been keeping in close contact with your GP/Dr?

I'm so sorry you have lost your baby. All my m/c started as spotting, then pretty much bleeding like a heavy period in a few days. I think it would be best to go back and have another scan & bloods to see what is happening.

I know you from the other thread we're in...

With my latest one I start spotting on and off for about 2 weeks, long story short once it was confirmed I was going to miscarry, the spotting had continued for another week.... It then stopped again, had a red bleed on Sunday morning, then another on Monday... that week it was light red lighter than a period.. Then on that weekend I had severe cramping, but still light red blood.. Then Monday lunch time the clots started coming with 'labor' type pains... Monday 5.45pm I had my baby boy... That whole day I had huge clots and was going through 2 pads an hour ( was a lot but i didnt want to go to hospital) .... The bleending then lighten up again and then stopped completely the next Tuesday... It was a long stretched out process but I knew the only way I could start to heal and get better was if I went natural... Of course if I HAD to have a d&C then I would have.... ( I was almost 11wks)

With my first, I started spotting on Thursday morning continued all week and weekend, clots started on the saturday night and I passed my baby mid-day on the Sunday... I was 7wks +1....

I am really sorry that you have to go through this... I hope it is no where near as long as my recent m/c ... it was and still is extremely exhausting on the body but for me definately the best choice for me....

I'm sorry you are going through a miscarriage it is such an awful thing to experience.

I had what they called a "spontaneous" miscarriage where it all happened at once. I had been spotting for 2 weeks prior but after blood tests and 2 scans all was good and then one day i bled very heavily and passed the baby right away. There was no waiting and no warning. It was very traumatic and i am still trying to deal with it.

For your sake i hope its not long MASSIVE :hug: :hug:

I was going to say something similar to Sara and say to just be careful of infection keep a close eye on your temp and how you're feeling. Its one thingto loose naturally and another to put yourself at unnecessary risk.

My first mc I had spotting on and off for a week then bled heavily with terribly cramping for close to 2 weeks. My second and third mc's they were about 8 days of heavy bleeding but no real spotting.

It is a huge thing for your body to go through but if after a few more days nothing much has happened and you;re still feeling a bit blah please please go see your Dr you may just need a d&c.

I naturally miscarried. I didn't even realise I was pregnant though, I was in a huge amount of pain with a little bit of spotting for about 7 days. I was only about 5 weeks so I thought at the time it was some kind of screwed up period before I eventually went to the doctor. They then found out my hcg levels were consistent with a pregnancy. My bleeding started about 8 or 9 days after the cramping and spotting happened.

It was very heavy when it did start.

Thankyou so much for the detailed and supportive replies. I deeply appreciate you all taking the time. I have got a Dr's appointment on Monday morning so I am hoping something will happen this weekend. Now that hubby is home for the weekend I am thinking I can really relax and drop into what it being asked of me. I will certainly make sure that I don't have any infection symptoms, I think I feel off in my body due to the waiting and wondering, plus still feeling nausea which is difficult as it is no longer useful.

It feels wonderful to be able to come here and ask, I am still staying very much close to home so haven't really asked many people in real life how it was for them.

Just updating.... I started bleeding this afternoon and had 'labour' pains and intense bleeding. Feeling a mix of emotions, plus it's a month ago today that we got married, so it's weird that today of all days it happened!
I have an appointment on Wednesday at the early pregnancy clinic for checkup and bloods and injections, so I guess they will make sure everything is moving nicely. I am glad I waited it out and I am so relieved I didn't have to wait too long for this moment after the nurse telling me today she knows of a woman that went 10weeks waiting for the baby to pass....!
