On the path to a diagnosis
We have suspected for a long while now that DS 3.5 years may exhibit alot of symptoms of aspergers, I'm fairly new too what it all means but have been doing a fair bit of reasearch in the last 6mths. We have been to see the GP, a child psychologist who both feel he exhibits a lot of signs and symptoms and we now have an appt in febuary to see a peads. I'm very nervous for him as he starts preschool next year, he currently attends daycare one day a week and recently changed as he didn't like going to the other one so much that I couldn't drive down the same road that the school was on.it took me 40 mins to settle him enough today for me to leave. he still was sobbing after I left. He does settle quickly once I leave. He is so very particular about things and everything has to be precise and if anything is different or not to his standard it realy throws him out of whack and he gets very upset, how is going to cope with preschool 2.5 days a week when he struggles at daycare for one?? He learns quickly and absorbs information and remembers it very well his imagination is very advanced but he gets soo upset because he has no friends, he tends to stick to himself through out the day or hang out with the teachers. There is so many other symptoms that he exhibits but I'm crying to much to keep writing. I guess I'll be glad once he's diagnosed but I'm so very very scared as well. How do you helpnyour little one cope?? Sorry if this mumbled I haven't really spoke about it to anyone other then DH who is probably just as scared as I am. Thank you if you got this far. And i guess I'll wait to see what the pead says
