waiting game

So I just found I I was pregnant 4 days ago! 5 days and 4 weeks along. I Have been so happy, its my first pregnancy, and we have been TTC for about 5 months. I took a pregnancy test at home and then another both were positive, and then went into my OB office and took another pregnancy test, (urine test) and it was positive. Now I just have to wait until my first appointment which is dec 29th, and I HATE the waiting game. I feel so anxious, nervous, scared, and Just want everything to be ok!!

Just wanted to share (and vent a little)

i find it tough waiting at the start as well - i keep doing HPTs every day until i'm about 7 weeks to get me through until it's almost time for the first scan :lol: it gets expensive!!

Thank you!!! We have tri care prime so we wont be paying anything for our appointments, and scans, and birth, thanks to the army =) But I am sure we will make all of that money up in baby things!

I was the same as you and hated waiting. Especially when you've been trying for a few months!! Do you get private cover through the army? like any choice where you go or what ob you get?

I researched ob's and hospitals in the meantime. Also a pregnancy book is good because it keeps you updated even in the early stages!

Well,.... We are stationed in South Korea, so I don't have a choice in hospitals!! There is only one hospital and one OB clinic, which stresses me out at times. Its hard to fit everyone in, and they cannot do c sections are deal with any complications so if your pregnancy has a complication then you are sent to an off post hospital where things are 100% different. Your doctor and nursing wont speak english (they will provide and interpreter) and they view on pain management and control is a LOT different. They do NOT like to give epidurals, and after baby is born they want to take baby away right away so mom can rest and keep baby in a nursery. Im not really OK with any of that but we don't have much options =/I have thought about going stateside for the third trimester but Im really not liking that either because that means I would have to take a baby on a 13 hour flight back to my home here. Its all very stressful and scary and this time, but Im just pushing that to the back of my mind for now and taking one day at a time!

I know what you mean about the waiting. I'm aching for first trimester to be over.

At least it's a busy time of year with Xmas festivities to keep us distracted.

We get coverage through the army. Im very limited, in fact only one OB available in the area!! We are stationed in Seoul, South Korea for about another year and 7 months or so. There is only one hospital and one OB office. so its a bit nerve racking. And they are not equipped to handle any complications, SO if anything happens, like a c section, I would be taken to a hospital off base where the doctors and nurses are Korean and don't speak english. they do provide an translator. And Koreans have another view on pain tolerance. Pain is part of the healing process... =/ Im nervous about this type of thing!!!
